Britney Spears' ex-husband, Jason Alexander, has been hit with a restraining order after crashing the singer's wedding.
Spears, 40, and her 28-year-old model husband Sam Asghari tied the knot on Thursday (June 9) in an intimate ceremony at their Thousand Oaks home in Los Angeles.
However, The 'Toxic' singer's ex-husband - to who she was married for a mere 55 hours back in 2004 - disrupted wedding preparations after allegedly gatecrashing and streaming a video from inside the singer's home.
Per BBC News, 40-year-old Alexander was later arrested by officers from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office in California and taken to a local jail. He has since been charged with a felony and has been ordered to stay away from his ex-wife for the next three years.
Per The Guardian, at a hearing on Monday in Ventura County, Alexander pleaded not guilty to charges of stalking, trespassing, battery, and vandalism.
"An altercation occurred with the security officers and that’s where the battery occurred," a police spokesman said. "And during the altercation, an item was broken, so that’s where the vandalism comes into play. And by being on private property, the trespass comes into play."
Shortly before the wedding, Alexander had posted an Instagram Live story in which he claimed Spears had invited him and said he was at the 'Baby One More Time' singer's home to "crash" the wedding.
The video showed him walking through Spears' home looking for her, and then going into a marquee where the finishing ceremony touches were being put to a large display of roses.
Watch the brief Livestream below:His bail was set at $100,000, with the judge granting a restraining order that states Alexander must stay 100 yards away from Spears for the next three years. Under a protective order, he cannot have any weapons or guns, and has to relinquish any firearms he may have.
As reported by Page Six, Senior Deputy District Attorney Erin Meister said Spears' security guard Richard Eubeler, "came into contact" with Alexander during the incident, and obtained a restraining order.
A close source also revealed to the publication that Spears’ attorney, Mathew Rosengart, was present at Alexander’s arraignment and was outraged by the incident.
However, Rosengart is "very thankful" to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office for its "professionalism," and said Alexander's felony order should be "a message" to anyone out who "violates the law".
Despite Alexander’s incursion into Spears’ mansion, she and Asghari happily exchanged vows in front of a star-studded crowd that included Donatella Versace, Selena Gomez, Drew Barrymore, Paris Hilton, and Kathy Hilton.
"The crew who created our home into literally a dream castle were fantastic!!! The ceremony was a dream and the party was even better !!!" Spears wrote in an Instagram post on Friday. "So many incredible people came to our wedding and I’m still in shock !!!"
