Over the weekend, Brooklyn Beckham, 23, and Nicola Peltz, 27, tied the knot in one of the most hotly anticipated and star-studded weddings of the year.

But despite the fairytale setting and the bride's elegant white dress, not everything about their glamorous nuptials was strictly in line with tradition.

According to reports, Beckham - the son of football star David and fashion designer Victoria - will be taking his fiancé's surname as his middle name as a nod to his new wife.

Before their wedding, a source close to the couple told The Sun that the photographer and chef had made the unconventional decision to take Peltz' name as a way of showing his "commitment".

"Brooklyn is head over heels for Nicola – it's a huge sign of his commitment to her, and his love for her," they said per the outlet.

In the wake of the wedding, it looks like the reports were correct, as Beckham has already changed his Instagram handle to 'Brooklyn Peltz Beckham'. Additionally, Brooklyn shared a photo of the pair on the big day (above), along with the caption: "Mr. & Mrs. Peltz Beckham".

With the new middle name, that would mean that his full name is now Brooklyn Joseph Peltz Beckham.

The couple are no strangers to making grand displays of their love. They already have various tattoos dedicated to each other, and wear each other's wisdom teeth around their necks as necklaces, per People.

On Saturday, they officially tied the knot at the actress's family's sprawling Florida estate, in a lavish wedding ceremony reported to have cost $4 million.

Guests' included the whole of the Beckham family as well as Peltz's parents - billionaire investor father Nelson Peltz and her former model mother Claudia Heffner - and siblings. There was also a whole host of celebrity faces; Eva Longoria, Venus and Serena Williams, and Victoria's former bandmates Sporty Spice and Scary Spice all made an appearance.

According to Vogue, Bates Motel actress Peltz donned a Valentino couture gown to walk down the aisle. Meanwhile, her groom wore custom Dior by Kim Jones, who also dressed his father David and little brothers/best men Romeo and Cruz.
