Bruce Willis's wife Emma Heming Willis has shared some heartwarming footage of the actor's final ride on Disney's Splash Mountain.
Bruce, 68, had initially been diagnosed with aphasia in 2022 - which affects speech and language - before his family revealed that he is living with frontotemporal dementia, which was diagnosed when his symptoms "worsened".
The action star has remained largely out of the limelight since news of his health was made public, with his wife sharing updates with fans on social media.
Recently, his 29-year-old daughter Tallulah wrote an emotional first-person essay for Vogue, opening up about her father's deteriorating health and detailing how she'd known something was wrong with him "for some time".
"My family announced in early 2022 that Bruce Willis was suffering from aphasia, a brain-mediated inability to speak or to understand speech, and we learned earlier this year that that symptom was a feature of frontotemporal dementia, a progressive neurological disorder that chips away at his cognition and behavior day by day," she began.
"But I've known that something was wrong for a long time," The Whole Ten Yards actress continued. "It started out with a kind of vague unresponsiveness, which the family chalked up to Hollywood hearing loss: 'Speak up! Die Hard messed with Dad's ears.'"
Arnold Schwarzenegger also shared a moving tribute to his Expendables co-star during an interview with CinemaBlend. "I think that he's fantastic. He ... is a huge, huge star. And I think that he will always be remembered as a great, great star, and a kind man," the 75-year-old Terminator star said of his friend.
He explained that he understands why Bruce chose to retire from acting "under his circumstances, health-wise," but added: "In general, you know, we never really retire. Action heroes, they reload."
Now, Bruce's wife has taken to social media to post a sweet clip of the veteran actor enjoying the Splash Mountain ride at Disney before it closed for good. "You bet this family will be back for more fun and laughs when you reopen as Tiana Bayou! Thanks for all the memories Splash Mountain [...]," she wrote in the caption.
Thousands of fans took to the comments section to write messages of encouragement for the star, with one person saying: "I hope people are respecting your wishes to leave your family be. With that being said, thank you for sharing bits of Bruce with us."
"So good to see your sweet family [enjoying] time together [...] specially Bruce! I'm a big fan of him and I [smiled] when I see him happy! [...] wish you more happiness together for a looonnnggggg time," someone added.
Emma, along with Willis' ex-wife Demi Moore, and their daughters have kept fans updated with pictures and information on how he has been doing since stepping back from the public eye.
