BTS member Jungkook has begged fans who found his home address to stop sending him food deliveries.
The 25-year-old - whose full name is Jeon Jung-kook - is a vocalist for the insanely popular K-pop band, BTS. The group has six additional members named V, Jimin, Suga, RM, J-Hope, and Jin.
As reported by Billboard, on May 4, the 'Butter' singer took to the fan subscription platform Weverse to inform the band's supporters - also known as ARMYs - that he is annoyed with the unrequested attempts to feed him.
He asked them to refrain from delivering meals to his home address and added that he won't be eating any of the food sent to him.
"Please don't send food delivery to my house," Jung Kook wrote in a message (per a translation from Korean to English in The Economic Times). "Even if you send it, I won't eat it. I'm thankful for the thought but since I eat well by myself you (the sender) can buy and eat it."
"I'm requesting. If it's sent one more time, I'll inquire about the order number on the receipt and take measures," the K-pop star continued. "Therefore, please stop."
Following the 'Dynamite' musician's post, ARMYs took to Twitter to support Jungkook’s request. One user wrote: "Jungkook is always so nice and polite and he always tried his best to not be rude about what he asks, but this is not a reason to pretend he doesn’t care. You’re not a fan if you can’t respect his privacy, and he shouldn’t have to ask for that. Please respect him."
Another person said: "Jungkook is one of the most loveliest people ever, please stop taking advantage of his kindness. Please know your boundaries as a fan & learn to respect his privacy. I am always praying for Jungkook’s safety & well-being."
A third commented: "I pray for jungkook to always be safe cause some people showed up at his workout place, now some feel like they have the right to know his address, violate his privacy, and order food delivery for him. he's a human being before he is your idol, please have some respect and empathy."
A fourth remarked: "People sending Jungkook food delivery to his house where he sleeps is f***ing terrifying I hope he is safe y’all don’t realize how f***ing scary that is to him he doesn’t deserve that I'm so worried about him."
Obsessed fans who swarm the personal lives of K-Pop idols in South Korea are called "sasaeng fans," and they are known to resort to drastic attempts including breaking into their property or leasing cars to lurk on them.
This isn't the first time the 'Permission to Dance' vocalist has had to plead with people to stop invading his personal boundaries. Earlier this year, he asked fans not to show up at his gym and to give him some privacy while he exercises.
"I wasn’t going to say anything. I’m really thankful that you guys are cheering for me, and sending me lots of interest and love. I’m really thankful. I really am," Jungkook said, translated by ABP Live. "Please don’t come to see me when I am exercising. I was really surprised last time."
"I finished working out, and I had to go home. That time when we did that live broadcast. It was about 20 minutes or 30 minutes… 20 minutes before going home, and I turned on the live stream."
"I was going to go home, but there were people there. I’m really thankful for the interest you show me, but this was not an official schedule (I went to). So you know," Jungkook added.
