Actress Cate Blanchett has revealed that she had a"chainsaw accident" during lockdown.

The actress made the admission while appearing on former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard’s podcast, A Podcast of One's Own, and revealed that it left her with  "a little nick to the head".

This comes after Britney recently revealed that she accidentally burnt down her gym:

During the show, the 51-year-old was asked how she was finding life in her Sussex Home during lockdown, and she said: "I'm fine. I had a bit of a chainsaw accident yesterday, which sounds very, very exciting, but it wasn't.

"Apart from the little nick to the head, I'm fine."

The former leader of Australia’s Labour Party then told Blanchett to "be very careful with that chainsaw," adding: "You've got a very famous head, I don't think people would like to see any nicks taken out of it."

The actress then explained what life in lockdown is like with her husband, playwright Andrew Upton, and their children Dashiell, 18, Roman, 16, Ignatius, 12, and Edith, five.

She said that she had taken a year off work to support her son through his exams, but that they have now been canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

"I took the year off ostensibly to be with him and support him through exam period," she explained.

"And then all of this exam stuff evaporated [as schools closed] and I'm left with an 18-year-old who doesn't really want to have anything to do with me!" she said.

"So it's a little bit discombobulating, but it's a high-class problem, we're all well," she added.

Blanchett currently lives in a $6.25million manor called Highwell House near Crowborough, about an hour south of London, per the Daily Mail. She had her family had previously lived in Hunters Hill, Sydney before relocating to the UK.
