Every year, the Golden Globes brings glitz, glamour and scandal - but this year, no part of it was as glitzy, glamorous, or scandalous as the events that went down in the elevator. In case you're not clued up, every year a prop lift is set up in order to catch A-listers doing hilarious, adorable and outrageous skits, that are later posted to social media for your entertainment.
And this year had some of the very best moments so far. From Debra Messing making out with the 'hotel porter', to Susan Kelechi Watson using a wind machine, to the Black Panther storyline that we all needed finally emerging, the elevator did not disappoint.
The Golden Globes tend to make news each year, either with some shock wins, some awkward moments or some good old-fashioned roasting by those hosting it. After all, why not poke fun at the world's most famous stars if you've got them all in the same room together?
For the 76th iteration of the awards ceremony, we had Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh (who also picked up a Best Actress win) hosting the night in Beverly Hills. The pair managed to have their fair share of burns this year, but on the whole kept things positive and wholesome - a tone that viewers were happy to see:
Before the ceremony got into full swing, the attention was all on the red carpet, where all sorts of celebrities gathered in their best wear, being swarmed by photographers before they made it to their seats to see who won and lost. One of the actresses on the red carpet has everyone on Twitter talking - but not for the reason that you'd expect.
Kaley Cuoco, best known for her role on the hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory, hit the red carpet with her husband Karl Cook, who she married in June last year. She was wearing a gown designed by Monique Lhuiller - but it was the pockets she was raving about during her interview with Ryan Seacrest.
However, Twitter's obsession wasn't with how good she looked, but who she looked like. According to numerous people, the 33-year-old has suddenly started looking a lot like one of the other biggest sitcom actresses: Jennifer Aniston. One fan literally wrote, "When did Jennifer Aniston change her name to Kaley Cuoco?" - and they weren't alone in thinking this.
At first I couldn't see the similarity, but after looking a little longer, I'm starting to see the resemblance just a little bit. But it's not the only left-field thing for Cuoco's fans to latch onto in recent months.
In December she had to repeatedly deny the fact that she was pregnant - all because of the angle of one photo she uploaded to Instagram. The actress shared a photo from her honeymoon with her new husband, but it was the way that her dress hung that sparked a needless debate.
This supposed 'baby bump' sent many into overdrive, commenting the likes of "When's the baby due???" and "Are you hiding a baby bump?!?" Cuoco eventually had to take to her Instagram stories just to set everybody straight:
While many users probably thought their comments were pretty innocuous, it seemed that once they get high in numbers it can be pretty irritating. Maybe it's best not to look too hard into things like this.
The 2018 MTV Music Video Awards took place last night to celebrate the visual masterpieces that accompany today's most loved hits. Dua Lipa, Drake, and Shawn Mendes were all nominated for awards, but it was artists such as Cardi B, Nicki Minaj and Jennifer Lopez who took the trophies home.
Childish Gambino won three prizes for This Is America, and Camila Cabello was the winner of the two biggest awards – video of the year for Havana and artist of the year. Ariana Grande was up for five awards, and though she only took one home, she gave an incredible performance of God Is a Woman, inviting her cousin, her mother and her grandmother onto stage with her.
It was also a big night for Ariana due to the fact that it was her first public appearance with fiancé Pete Davidson. The two were clearly very loved-up, exchanging kisses in front of photographers on the red carpet.
Speaking of which, no reportage of an A-list event would be complete without a fashion breakdown. So without further ado, here are 15 looks from the red carpet that most deserve our attention.
Awards ceremonies are a rather big deal, perhaps even THE deal when it comes to Hollywood high society. Taika Waititi has had quite the last years across the board! What am I dithering on about? Well, much like what we saw with Lucy Boynton, the top half of her fitted and sleek outfit resembles and functional armored cuirass that says battle-ready as much as it does Hollywood-class.

Once again, those who follow fashion as a whole or at the very least, the clothing of stars will understand what a night these awards ceremonies are. Janina Gavankar's attire here takes on the little-black-dress and the sophisticated ballgown and crosses it with whatever those blue things are.

The 71-year-old actress and director is most recently known for her string of roles playing characters of questionable moral and mental standing in the enthralling seasons of American Horror Story, so for someone who is used to seeing her don some equally questionable attire, adding her into this list was a must.
The daughter of both Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, 31-year-old Zoe hails from a well-dressed lineage, to say the least. So, really, its anyone's guesses on what she would ultimately wear on award night. Simple, classy yet standout. I wouldn't expect anything less.
Every year, the Oscars rolls around, and every year we find ourselves getting excited over the same old things: the extravagant outfits, the ridiculous acceptance speeches, and - of course - the cringeworthy moments that nobody planned on happening. I mean, let's be honest, those are the bits we're all really watching for.
Now, it was obviously going to take a lot to live up to the Fiji Watergate of the Golden Globes - but these actors sure gave it their best shot. So, let's take a look at some of the best moments, shall we?
1. Glenn Close had a bit of a moment on the red carpet
And, on top of all that, Rami Malek landed himself a trip to the paramedic after apparently taking a bit of a tumble when celebrating his Oscar win. Luckily for him, the moment wasn't caught on camera - unlike that Ryan Seacrest kiss.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go to a dark room and let all the cringe out for a bit.
It is not unusual for the Golden Globes to attract a lot of attention, as it is almost always the first major event of the year at which every big name in Hollywood makes an appearance. This time around, however, the majority of the focus was not on the wild array of red carpet looks, or the celebrity guest list, or even films and TV shows up for awards.
Instead, most of the press coverage was to do with the #TimesUp campaign.
The idea of the movement was to raise awareness of sexual abuse within the film and TV industry, and many stars expressed their support for this by wearing black. Some of those who did participate in this were called out on social media, however, after it transpired that they had either directly or indirectly supported the abuse culture in Hollywood.
James Franco, for instance, has been named by many as an abuser, and Paris Hilton's choice to wear black was slammed after she made comments implying that many women only came forward about their experiences for "attention".
Sarah Hyland, the star of Modern Family, was also amongst those to receive criticism for her actions on the evening.

The backlash came after a video posted on Twitter by InStyle showed Hyland acting drunk in an elevator with an older male (and inappropriately handsy) bellhop. In the clip, which is only 12 seconds long, the 27-year-old actress stumbles around while clutching a bottle of champagne, leans up against the old man, and eventually falls backward into his arms after failing to exit the elevator due to being so intoxicated.
This sort of content would be questionable at the best of times, but, considering the vast majority of accused males in the scandal are older white men (not to mention the fact that many of the victims have been blamed for being drunk, or acting like they were "asking for it"), this really wasn't an ok thing to do.

And, as anyone could have predicted, Twitter came for InStyle - and they had a few harsh words for Hyland, too.

Hyland attempted to dispel any concerns about the clip, and tweeted that the bellhop was a "very nice old man".

Many people stood by her and defended her choice to do the skit, but others said it was in poor taste or - if nothing else - was a case of "bad timing".

Sure, one could argue that Hyland was pretending to be drunk in the clip, and the bellhop was just helping her steady herself (albeit looking thrilled while doing so), but the point is that this clip was used during an evening that aimed to promote awareness and intolerance for inappropriate sexual behavior.
Even without this clip, the scandal is not being taken seriously enough by some people - so, by showing a young, vulnerable woman falling into the arms of an older man, it almost sends a message that abuse is something which can be mocked.
Obviously, Hyland did not intend for it to be taken this way - but perhaps a little more thought should have been put into the skit before it was seen by millions of people.
