Aaron Carter's twin sister, Angel Conrad, has shared a touching tribute in memory of her late brother.
On Saturday (November 5), TMZ reported that singer and actor Aaron Carter had been found dead at his home in Lancaster, California. Law enforcement officials later revealed to the publication that Carter's body was found "in the bathtub" by the singer's housesitter, who later alerted the authorities.
Aaron - who shared a one-year-old son with his on-and-off again fiancée Melanie Martin - was the younger brother of Backstreet Boys bandmember Nick Carter, and would later shoot to fame in the 1990s after launching his own music career.
After launching his first studio album at the age of nine, Carter would go on to release four more over the next two decades - selling over 10 million records worldwide.
On social media, Carter is fondly being remembered as "the original Justin Bieber" - who helped shape and entertain a generation of kids and teens.
And as fans pay tribute to the late singer-turned-rapper, so are many of those who knew him best - including his own twin sister, Angel.
"To my twin… I loved you beyond measure," Angel writes on Instagram alongside photos of the two siblings as babies.
"You will be missed dearly. My funny, sweet Aaron, I have so many memories of you and I, and I promise to cherish them," she added, before concluding: "I know you’re at peace now. I will carry you with me until the day I die and get to see you again."
Additionally, Aaron's older brother and Backstreet Boys bandmember Nick Carter has also paid tribute to the 'Crush on You' singer.
Writing on Instagram on Sunday, Nick wrote: "My heart has been broken today.
"Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded. I have always held onto the hope, that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed."
Sharing a carousel of photos with his little brother throughout their lives, Nick continues: "Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss. But the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here.
"I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you Chizz., now you get a chance to finally have some peace you could never find here on earth…. God, Please take care of my baby brother."
The siblings also had another sister, Leslie Carter, whose single 'Like Wow!' appeared on the soundtrack to the popular animated movie Shrek.
Eventually, Leslie would abandon the bubblegum pop genre and adopt a more pop-rock sound, forming the band The Other Half in 2006.
Sadly, Leslie passed away in 2012 at age 25 shortly after complaining about feeling ill. Her death was later attributed to a drug overdose.
An investigation into Aaron's death is currently ongoing, Sky News reports.
Our thoughts continue to go out to Carter's family, friends, and fans at this time.
