Amber Heard broke down in court yesterday as she claimed to have received countless death threats during her defamation trial against ex-husband Johnny Depp.

The Aquaman star described some of the vile messages she has allegedly received from Depp's supporters, including one that threatened to put her baby daughter in a microwave.

Over the past few weeks, Depp and Heard have been embroiled in a scandalous defamation trial that has made headlines worldwide. The Pirates of the Caribbean star is suing his ex-wife for $50 million over a 2018 op-ed she wrote for the Washington Post, in which she claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse. Depp maintains that he was the real victim of their violent marriage and that Heard's article wrecked his reputation and his career.

Heard, meanwhile, has doubled down on her claims and counter-sued for $100 million, citing multiple occasions during the course of their relationship when she claims Depp was physically abusive.

With just one day left before the jury are sent away to make their decision, Heard took to the witness stand once again to deliver another emotional testimony to the court.

While there is still no knowing whose side the jury are on, it's safe to say that Heard has not found the same level of support outside the courtroom as her ex-husband. Depp's loyal fans have flocked to the courthouse in Fairfax, Virginia, to greet him every morning and taken to social media to cheer him on under the widely used 'Justice For Johnny' hashtag.

Meanwhile, on the witness stand yesterday (Thursday 26), Heard said that she had been receiving "hundreds of death threats regularly, if not daily" and "thousands since this trial has started."

She cried as she told the court: "It’s been agonizing. Agonizing, painful and the most humiliating thing I’ve ever had to go through."

"People want to kill me, and they tell me so every day," Heard continued, adding: "People want to put my baby [daughter Oonagh Paige] in the microwave, and they tell me that. This is horrible. This is painful. And this is humiliating for any human being to go through."

She went on to suggest that her ex-husband could ask his fans to stop attacking her if he wanted, but that he is choosing not to.

Heard is not the first person to be abused online by Depp's supporters. Earlier this week, it was reported that psychiatrist Dr. David Spiegel was attacked by trolls after testifying that Depp displayed the "behaviors of someone who is a perpetrator of intimate partner violence."

Closing arguments in the case are scheduled for later today.
