It's been an emotional week for Ariana Grande. At Aretha Franklin's funeral, she gave a moving tribute, belting out the Queen of Soul's classic song (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman. But unfortunately, her powerful performance was overshadowed by a creepy pastor who appeared to grope her chest. Instead of making her feel like a natural woman, he made her feel like a piece of meat. Apparently, he's the only man on the planet who doesn't know Ariana is engaged to Pete Davidson. Get the internet, Pastor Perv!
On the upside, Ariana can bask in the success of her number one album, Sweetener. The project features hit songs like God Is A Woman, No Tears Left To Cry, and Yes, I'm Really Going To Marry Pete Davidson, Really. Fans have been loving the project - at least, until they found out that one lyric was super dirty. When Ariana sings, "I like the way you lick the bowl," it turns out she's not talking about tasting the last remnants of cookie dough after baking. She's talking about licking a lady's vagina after she has orgasmed. My sources tell me it does not taste like cookie dough.
Well, after listening to Sweetener over and over again, Ariana fans have discovered a hidden message. And you know it's hidden, because the message can't be found in the lyrics. At the beginning of the song breathin, a voice can be heard something cryptic. You may think it's just nonsense, or the sound of someone having their "bowl licked, but no. If you play the introduction backward, you can decipher the message. A voice says, "Tonight is your special night, do something magical." (Awww.)
Well, if you think that message was sweet, it get even sweeter. Ariana fans are convinced that that the mysterious voice belongs to her grandfather, who passed away in 2014. I know, that might seem a reach. But when Ariana appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, she laid down some breadcrumbs, describing how the song deals with anxiety.
"'breathin' is about breathing when you're anxious. It's about anxiety and feeling like you can't get a full breath. It's the worst feeling in the world. I was having lots of [anxiety attacks]. There was no end. We were in the studio, we were writing and I was like, ‘I can’t breathe.' They were like, ‘We’re gonna write this song.’ I was like, ‘Okay, still can’t breathe, but we’ll write it.’ ... We made this song. I can kind of breathe now, so we’re good. Progress."
What's more, on July 22, Ariana shared a photo, memorializing the late Grandpa Grande. "miss n love u forever my best friend #4years," she wrote in the caption.
So, even if you've had a rough week, remember that you only get one life, so every day - and night -- in special. You heard Ariana - do something magical!
