Ariana Grande has caused commotion with her new album as fans think it hints at the real reason behind her separation from Dalton Gomez.
Last Friday (March 8) the 30-year-old singer-songwriter released her highly-anticipated seventh album, Eternal Sunshine, which features 13 songs, including her first single 'Yes, And?'
People can't stop talking about how different Ariana Grande sounded at the Oscars on Sunday night:
The album comes months after Grande announced in July 2023 that she would be separating from her ex-husband, 28, after two years of marriage, with the couple officially filing for divorce on September 18.
TMZ reported that the date of separation was listed as February 20, 2023, with Grande's lawyer, Laura Wasser, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.

The track featured cryptic lines about getting played by a cheating lover whose lies drove the protagonist crazy, with Grande singing in the first verse: "I’ve never seen someone lie like you do / So much, even you start to think it’s true / So now we play our separate scenes. Now, she’s in my bed, mm-mm, layin' on your chest / Now I’m in my head, wonderin' how it ends."
The songstress continues in the second verse: "I'll be the first to say 'I'm sorry' / Now you got me feelin' sorry / Showed you all my demons, all my lies / Yet you played me like Atari / Now it’s like I’m lookin’ in the mirror."
"Hope you feel alright when you’re in her / I found a good boy and he’s on my side," she said - possibly referring to her new boyfriend, Ethan Slater, whom she began dating after separating from Gomez.
However, reports of the couple's romance left many people confused by the fact that the Wicked actor was married to his wife of four years, Lilly Jay, with whom he shares a son. Speculations continued to intensify as TMZ reported that the SpongeBob actor filed for divorce from Jay last summer.
Following the release of the album and single, many of the singer's supporters took to X (formerly Twitter) to slam Gomez on his alleged infidelity.
"So Dalton cheated on Ariana and Ariana has been the one being accused of cheating!!?!! y’all owe Ariana the biggest fattest f***ing apology ever!!! Are you f***ing kidding me," one user wrote.
Another said: "Imagine cheating on Ariana Grande…..Dalton Gomez may you never know peace," while a third commented: "Ariana Grande referring her MARRIAGE to a situationship.. catching him cheating on her in the house she owns…him constantly lying to her that he couldn’t even keep up with [his] own lies.. turning up the tv so he couldn’t hear her cry at night... Dalton Gomez is trash."
A fourth added: "Wait so Dalton cheated on Ariana?? That’s what I understand from the eternal sunshine lyrics… if that’s true they painted HER to be the bad guy in this situation o m g……"

"Hi, I just wanted to say, anyone that is sending hateful messages to the people in my life based on your interpretation of this album is not supporting me and is absolutely doing the polar opposite of what I would ever encourage (and is also entirely misinterpreting the intention behind the music)... I ask that you please do not," she penned.
"It is not how to support me. It is the opposite. Although this album captures a lot of painful moments, it also is woven together with a through line of deep, sincere love. If you cannot hear that, please listen more closely. Thank you. I love you!!!" she added.
While she did not mention her ex-husband explicitly, it seems the message was about him.
