Ariana Grande shares emotional message on anniversary of Manchester Arena attack

It has been almost three years since a bomb was detonated at Ariana Grande's concert in Manchester - an attack that killed 22 people and left over 800 wounded.

To honour the tragedy, which occurred on the 22 May 2017, Ariana has worked hard to remain connected to her fans. Following the attack, she organized the One Love Manchester benefit concert in just two weeks, which raised over $10 million for the victims and their families. And she also had a tattoo of a bee, which is part of the Manchester coat of arms, inked onto her body to remember those who lost their lives.

Now, approaching the third anniversary of the attack, the No Tears Left To Cry singer has shared an emotional message with her fans.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, the 26-year-old wrote, "I want to take a moment to acknowledge and send my love to everyone that is feeling the sadness and tremendous heaviness of the anniversary coming up this week."

"Not a day goes by that this doesn’t affect you and all of us still. I will be thinking of you all week and weekend. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you always."

She finished the post with a bee emoji.

Speaking about the aftermath of the tragedy to Time magazine two years ago, Grande disclosed that it would "take forever" for her to come to terms with her grief.

"Music is supposed to be the safest thing in the world. I think that’s why [the attack is] still so heavy on my heart every single day," she told the publication. "I wish there was more that I could fix. You think with time it’ll become easier to talk about. Or you’ll make peace with it. But every day I wait for that peace to come and it’s still very painful."
