Ariana Grande shares video of what she looks like with her natural hair on Instagram

There are plenty of stars out there who have iconic looks: people who you can recognize by their silhouette in profile alone. And Ariana Grande is definitely one of those people.

The 'thank u, next' star has always rocked an awesomely-long ponytail, and she's seen in public with that hairstyle so often that it's difficult to imagine her without it.

However, this week Ariana gave her Instagram followers a special treat, by sharing a short video that showed us all what her hair looks like when it's not tied up, and suffice to say, fans are shook.

Take a peek at what Ariana's hair REALLY looks like in the vid below:

In a video posted to Ariana's Instagram stories on Monday, following a performance at Tampa in Florida, Ariana displayed her frizzy hair, without the waist-long ponytail she's best known for. Her short, voluminous, curly locks made her look completely different!

In a 2014 Facebook post, Ariana explained that she always wears her hair in a ponytail due to the damage her hair sustained from the heavy bleaching required for her to play the character of Cat Valentine on the Nickelodeon show Victorious.

Grande wrote: " My real hair is back to brown and I wear extensions but I wear it in a pony tail because my actual hair is so broken that it looks absolutely ratchet and absurd when I let it down. I tried wigs, they looked RIDICULOUS. Tried a weave because I am working on a new project and want to try some different looks and literally wanted to rip my scalp off. [sic]"

She added: "It's even more difficult for me to have to wait forever for my natural hair to grow back and to have to wear more fake hair than every drag queen on earth combined. So PLEASE gimme a break about the hair (or just don't look at me lol). IT'S JUST HAIR AFTER ALL. There are way way way more important things. [sic]"
