Arnold Schwarzenegger has revealed that he thinks he would have been a "great President", believing that he has "the energy" for the role.

Schwarzenegger, 76, is no stranger to being in the public eye as he built his career on being one of the greatest action stars to have ever lived.

What's more, he then forged a successful career as a politician when he became Governor of California in 2003.

But it seems as though his political ambitions spanned further than California, as he has recently sat down with Howard Stern on SiriusXM where he revealed that he would have been great as POTUS.

Watch Schwarzenegger's interview below:

However, he was never able to run for office because the law states that the President must be from the U.S. and Schwarzenegger was born in Austria.

The actor stated: "It really wasn't because I felt like everything I've accomplished in my life - [the] bodybuilding career, the movie career, becoming Governor, setting up my Schwarzenegger Institute, all this stuff, the millions of dollars I made and everything - it's all because of America. So, why would I complain about the one thing I can't do?"

Despite being unable to run for the presidency, Schwarzenegger remains steadfast in his belief that he could have excelled in the role. He claimed: "I think that I would've made a great president. I think that I have the energy and the will to bring people together."

Stern, the renowned radio host, chimed in with his support, saying: "I think you would've won."

Schwarzenegger agreed, saying: "You think about it, and you're absolutely right because so many people come up to me and go, 'Oh, I wish you could be our president.'"

He emphasized his commitment to uniting people, protecting the environment, and preserving democracy, adding: "There are so many people out there in America who need help, so I think we should all concentrate on that... and not just think about ourselves."

Addressing concerns about his age, particularly in the context of the 2024 election, Schwarzenegger debunked any doubts about his vitality.

He stated: "The bottom line is, I'm 76 years old. I'm full of energy, I'm full of enthusiasm. I'm as enthusiastic and excited as I was when I'm 40 years old."

He highlighted his ongoing passion for facing challenges head-on, remarking: "I just always see mountains in front of me to be climbed. And so, as long as I see those mountains, I keep my enthusiasm and I keep my excitement and the fire in my belly to keep climbing and climbing and climbing."

Schwarzenegger, a member of the Democratic Party, has been an outspoken critic of former President Donald Trump. In 2021, he referred to Trump as "the worst president ever" and made comparisons between the Capitol riots and events in Nazi Germany.

During the same show, the legendary actor also stated that he believes that young Americans need to learn from failure and that America is "creating a generation of wimps and weak people".
