On Sunday (February 16), the Parks and Recreation star took the stage at SNL 50: The Anniversary Special to introduce musical guests Miley Cyrus and Brittany Howard.
While the event was filled with Hollywood’s biggest names, the 40-year-old opted to skip the red carpet, making her entrance solely on stage at the iconic Rockefeller Center in New York City.
For the occasion, she wore a black blazer and slacks paired with a tie-dye T-shirt- an apparent tribute to her late husband.
According to Daily Mail, the couple shared a love for tie-dye, even wearing matching pajamas that Baena dyed himself when they secretly wed in 2020.
Plaza's appearance came just six weeks after Baena, who was a writer and director, was found deceased at the age of 47 on January 3, 2025, at the couple's home in Los Angeles.
The LA County Fire Department's radio call, obtained by The US Sun, revealed that a unit had been dispatched to a Los Feliz residence.
His body was discovered by an assistant at 10:25AM, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities later confirmed that Baena died by suicide.
The White Lotus actress addressed the devastating loss in a brief but poignant joint statement with Baena’s family.
"This is an unimaginable tragedy. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support. Please respect our privacy during this time," the family penned.

The Agatha All Along actress had originally been scheduled to present an award at the 2025 Golden Globes on January 5 but withdrew from the event following Baena’s passing.
That night, filmmaker Brady Corbet acknowledged her grief while accepting the Best Director award for The Brutalist.
"Tonight, my heart is with Aubrey Plaza and Jeff's family," he said in his speech.

The couple first met during a game of Balderdash in 2011 and quickly bonded over their shared love of film.
In 2014, Plaza starred in Baena’s directorial debut, Life After Beth, and they continued to collaborate creatively throughout their relationship.
"We're so obsessed with movies. That's why we're making movies together," Plaza told Page Six in 2017.
The pair kept their romance largely private, but in 2021, Plaza casually revealed that they had married a year earlier in a spontaneous backyard ceremony during the pandemic.
Our thoughts continue to be with Plaza and Baena's loved ones.
