Singer/songwriter August Alsina has released a new track named Entanglements - an apparent reference to the word that Jada Pinkett Smith used to describe their affair.

Yes, the fallout from Pinkett Smith and Alsina's tryst has very much become a matter of public discourse in recent weeks, not least after Alsina gave an interview claiming that Will Smith had given his blessing for the pair to enter into a relationship.

Jada Pinkett Smith talks about falling in love with Will Smith:

"I actually sat down with Will and had a conversation [...] He gave me his blessing," he said at the time.

The now infamous phrase "entanglement" comes from a portion of a Red Table Talk interview between Jada and Will, during which she admitted to her affair with August Alsina. She said, "We decided we were going to separate for a period of time and you go figure out how to make yourself happy and I will go figure out how to make myself happy.

"From there, as time went on, I got into a different kind of entanglement with August."

During the same interview, she refuted Alsina's claims that Will had given his permission for the affair to take place. "The only person who can give permission in that particular circumstance is myself," she said.

Well, the dust had barely settled on that bombshell interview when August Alsina released a brand new track. Its title? Entanglements.

The definition of entanglement/ It’s? when? you’re tangled in? the sheets/ Girl I know? that we don’t call it a relationship/ But you’re still f8ckin’ with me,” read a portion of the song's lyrics, per NME.

Later in the track Alsina sings:

"That ain’t my girl, but I got the key/ To the crib and to your car (To the crib and to her heart)/ She don’t wanna label shit but she needs me in her life."

Meanwhile, Rick Ross, who features on the track, raps;

"Shawty leanin’ on my shoulder, got her questionin’ my willpower/ Jaded by her beauty, but her reputation real solid/ Mornin’ down the hallway, I can tell you how I feel about it/ Caught up in the Matrix, and I doubt if I can get up out it,"

Entanglements by August Alsina is out now.
