Billie Eilish has revealed that she failed to stick to the protocol when she recently met members of the Royal Family.

The 19-year-old American superstar recently got the opportunity to rub shoulders (or, at least, shake hands) with royalty when she attended the premiere for the lasted James Bond movie, No Time To Die.

After joining the long list of acclaimed music stars to perform a James Bond theme song, Eilish was in attendance at the Royal Abert Hall in London on September 28, where she was photographed meeting the Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William, the Duchess of Cornwall, and Prince Charles.

She was also joined by her brother and collaborator, Finneas O’Connell.

However, it has long been stated that there are rules you must abide by when it comes to meeting the Royal Family, and this was something Eilish was asked about during her recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

The host said to 'Bad Guy' star: "You met the Royal Family, I assume they read you the rules and all that stuff before you met them?"

To which, Eilish replied: "Oh yeah! Oh Yeah! There was a whole list of things I had to follow."

Kimmel then asked the singer: "Did you pay attention to those rules?"

And, perhaps unsurprisingly, Eilish shook her head and mouthed "no", before further explaining: "But I tried to. I was planning on it and they were just so normal, like they didn’t make me feel like: ‘Oh, I’m scared, I can’t talk to them.

"They were very complimentary and they had all these questions for me and they were just very friendly and, like, funny and sweet.

"I don’t know, I can’t complain, it was amazing."

And let's face it, this picture of Kate Middleton shaking hands with Billie Eilish is nothing short of ICONIC:

However, despite Eilish saying that she was read a list of rules when meeting the Royals, the official website for the Royal Family states: "There are no obligatory codes of behavior when meeting The Queen or a member of the Royal Family, but many people wish to observe the traditional forms."

These "traditional forms" differ between men and women, with the website stating: "For men this is a neck bow (from the head only) whilst women do a small curtsy. Other people prefer simply to shake hands in the usual way."

The list adds that The Queen should be addressed as "Your Majesty" and then "Ma'am".

"For male members of the Royal Family the same rules apply, with the title used in the first instance being 'Your Royal Highness' and subsequently 'Sir'," the page adds, with the same going for female members of the Royal Family, the difference being that they are then subsequently referred to as "Ma'am".
