Billie Eilish has baffled her fans after sharing a bizarre optical illusion on Instagram, which has lead to a huge debate as to what color her Nike shoes really are.

In a series of videos shared to her Instagram story, Eilish talked about how her dad used to incorrectly call her pair of Nikes pink and white, whereas they're actually a pastel mint green color.

“Years ago I was wearing these shoes and my dad was like, ‘Wow those shoes are so cool, what are those like pink and white?'” Eilish told her 67 million followers.

Showing a close up of the shoes, Eilish exclaimed "Pink and white?! Pink and white? Oh my god”.

The thing is, though, the trainers do look very pink and white to an awful lot of social media users...

"Ok so I just watched Billie Eilish’s IG stories of her quite clearly PINK and WHITE trainers, honestly I’m thinking at this point she lost the plot. THEN, I watched them back to see GREEN and WHITE trainers? I don’t understand. Am I even alive? Can someone please explain this" wrote one Twitter user.

"Billie Eilish needs to understand that the trainers in the initial video look pink and white" a second commenter added.

"Billie Eilish going off on one about the pink and white trainers like I see green online but when she’s holding them they’re pink??? HELP what do y’all see" wrote a third.

"How can my eyes literally change in a matter of seconds? Billie Eilish’s trainers were pink and white until she showed the google pics and now all I can see is mint and white????" Another Twitter user added.

“So we all know that I’m right here, even if you see something else. Underneath it all, I’m right,” Eilish said at the culmination of the epic series of uploads.

“And real quick, before you keep arguing or whatever the f***, the entire internet has been calling me fat for an entire week so let me have this.”

Last week, the 18-year-old singer was forced to contend with body shaming comments after a paparazzi shot of her in a tank top was shared online.

In response, fans of Eilish took to Twitter to defend the 'No Time To Die' singer.

One Twitter user wrote: "can't wait for the day when billie eilish stops getting judged for wearing tank tops outside of her baggy clothes aesthetic. [sic]"

Sharing a link to the NY Post's Page Six article, another Twitter user added: "Exactly why
@billieeilish [wears] baggy clothes. Can't go one moment without being sexualized."

Another fan sarcastically quipped: "NO WAY. BILLIE EILISH OWNS A TANK TOP AND SHE'S PUTTING IT ON??? I CANNOT BREATHE."

Another Twitter user added: "Billie Eilish asks people not to sexualize her and she wears one tank top and people start sexualizing her, wtf??"
