Billy Ray Cyrus has tied the knot with Firerose in a small ceremony after the pair met on the set of Hannah Montana.
Cyrus, the iconic country singer and father to former child star Miley Cyrus, revealed his engagement to the talented Australian singer known simply as Firerose late last year.
In an exclusive interview with People magazine, Cyrus opened up about the journey that led him to the love of his life.
He detailed how their unique connection may have all started with his beloved dog, Tex, whose memory remains etched in his heart.
Cyrus and his late canine companion, a faithful German Shepherd named Tex, were inseparable. Tex accompanied the actor to the Hannah Montana set, and the rustic charm of the pine trees on the set reminded Cyrus of his Tennessee home.
He fondly recounted their cherished moments, saying: "Tex and I would go out there in the middle of the day, and he'd take care of his business. On that given day, Firerose came out of the front door. There was almost a moment of, I don't know, recognition. I was like, 'This girl's a star.'"
As fate would have it, Firerose was on set that day for an audition. While she didn't secure the role, she did cross paths with the man who would later become her husband.
Cyrus had an inkling about their future, saying, "I just thought, well, the casting agents, the producers, the writers, they're all on the floor of where we do Hannah Montana."
In a thoughtful gesture, Cyrus decided to introduce Firerose to the world behind the scenes, taking her under his wing. He recalled: "I actually said to her, 'Don't ever take a strange man up on this offer, but, in this case, Tex will testify that you will be totally safe. I'm going to introduce you to a producer, and you can kind of make yourself at home and watch us rehearse, and you know, maybe it might lead to a role or just another contact at Disney."
The pair kept in touch and a romantic connection blossomed, and the pair have now confirmed their love for each other by tying the knot in an intimate ceremony.
The 62-year-old and 34-year-old posted pictures of their nuptials to Instagram, but it remains unknown whether Miley made an appearance.
Cyrus referred to the day as the "most perfect celebration of love," while adding: "10/10/23 will always be the beautiful, joyous day that our two souls united as one in holy matrimony. It was the most perfect, ethereal celebration of love we could have ever imagined.
"For both of us to hear the preacher say, ‘Billy Ray and Firerose Cyrus … I now pronounce you husband and wife’ that was the sacred moment our new forever began. Long live love."
