On Wednesday, Britney Spears posted a now-deleted Instagram about running a 100-meter dash in 5.97 seconds, which is pretty much impossible given that the current men’s 100-meter world record is 9.58 seconds, set by Usain Bolt in 2009, and the women’s 100-meter world record is 10.49 seconds, set by Florence Griffith-Joyner in 1988.

She posted a screenshot of the timer on her phone with a 5.97 second split, and it was captioned, “Ran my first 5!!!! Getting over your fear of pushing it in the beginning is key …. once I did that I hit 5!!!!! Usually I run 6 or 7 …. my first try was 9 …. and now I did it whoop !!!!! 100 meter dash [sic].”

But apparently, the Toxic singer was in on the joke. She cleared up the confusion in a snap posted yesterday, which read "PS …. obviously I was joking about running the 100 meter dash in 5.97 seconds …. the world record is held by Usain Bolt which is 9.58 seconds …. but you better believe I’m coming for the world record  !!!! #joking #workbitch [sic]."

In related news, Britney took to Instagram on Friday to pledge to do what she could to support three fans whose lives have been impacted by the novel coronavirus pandemic, which is disrupting and endangering existences around the globe.

The Toxic singer shared the video message on the photo-sharing platform, disclosing that she was nominated by her younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, to participate in the Do Your Part Challenge, which is encouraging people to help others as the world goes into lockdown amind the COVID-19 outbreak.

"So our world is going through such hard times right now, and my sister just nominated me to help people," she said in the clip. "Whether it's with food or I'm getting your child diapers, or whatever it is, DM (direct message) me and I will help you out."

Spears then nominated Will Smith, her boyfriend, Sam Asghari, and Kate Hudson to take part.

Asghari took to the comments to write, "Amazing, let’s get things started."
