Well; Britney Spears: 100m world record holder was fun while it lasted, but it appears that what most of us suspected all along has finally been confirmed: she didn't really run 100m in 5.97 seconds.
It all began last week when Britney said in a since-deleted Instagram post that she had completed the 100-meter dash in the astonishing aforementioned time. Doubt was cast over her claim right away though, not least considering the official world record for the 100m is 9.58 seconds and was set by Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt back in 2009. The women's world record stands at 10.49 seconds and was set by Florence Griffith-Joyner in 1988.
Britney shows off her incredibly toned body in this yoga video:

“Ran my first 5!!!! Getting over your fear of pushing it in the beginning is key …. once I did that I hit 5!!!!! Usually I run 6 or 7 …. my first try was 9 …. and now I did it whoop !!!!! 100 meter dash [sic].” she wrote.
However, Britney has since clarified that she was joking when she claimed to have set the astonishing time, writing:
"Obviously I was joking about running the 100 meter dash in 5.97 seconds... the world record is held by Usain Bolt which is 9.58 seconds... but you better believe I'm coming for the world record!"
Yesterday, Britney took to Instagram to pay a moving tribute to Mariah Carey on the latter's birthday. She wrote;
"Happy Birthday @MariahCarey !!!!! You are one of the main reasons I started singing .... your Butterfly ? album never gets old even after 20+ years ….. it’s simply a classic and I will be listening to it today as I work out in the gym !!!!! Have a wonderful birthday ?? !!!!!! God bless."

And Mariah responded, telling Britney that she would be listening to Stronger as a morale booster over the current uncertain times.
