Cara Delevingne has hilarious poked fun at herself after fans spotted a sex toy in a picture of her home.

The unexpected item made its way onto the Architectural Digest Instagram page after they posted a photograph of the actress's kitchen that contained some very unexpected... crockery.

The picture was taken inside the 28-year-old's Los Angeles home that the magazine reports was built in 1941.

Despite Architectural Digest praising the kitchen's "English-country style" and the long history of the home which was reportedly visited by the Pope in 1987, Cara made a point of apologizing for the more than a little out-of-place dildo in the kitchen.

The Suicide Squad actress had no shame about the sex toy and quickly wrote: "Don't mind the..." and added an obvious aubergine emoji.

However, it really should have come as no surprise, with Architectural Digest themselves using vagina in their caption, writing: "It's unclear what His Holiness would have made of Delevingne’s vagina tunnel, a secret passageway concealed behind a low, painted panel, which leads from the living room to an adjacent bunk room."

A third, meanwhile, implied that the actress had put the dildo there as a prank, writing: "Best prank ever."

News of Cara's unusual kitchenware comes after the star said that her sexuality is like a pendulum and is always changing.

During the recent Pride episode of podcast Make It Reign with Josh Smith, she said: "The way I define myself still changes all the time, whether it’s pansexual, bisexual - I don’t really know.

"It's like a pendulum swinging, but almost now I feel far more comfortable being bisexual than I used to. I've kind of felt because I was lacking in my desire for women or love for women that I kind of just went one way and now it changes a lot more."
