Cardi B has opened up about the sexual harassment she endured at the hands of a photographer on a magazine shoot. The revelation came about as part of an interview for the show Untold Stories Of Hip Hop.
She told TV and radio host Angie Martinez:
"I will never forget how I went to shoot for this magazine and the photographer, he was trying to get close to me like, 'Yeah, you want to get in this magazine?' Then he pulled his d*ck out. I was so f*cking mad."
Martinez asked her how she handled the situation, Cardi replied, "I was like, 'You’re f*cking bugging. You know what? I’m out.'" The rapper also claimed that the owner of the magazine showed no concern for the treatment she suffered: "You know what’s so crazy? I told the magazine owner and he just looked at me like, ‘So? And?’"
She added: "When I see the #MeToo movement – there are girls from the hood I know that went through the same type of treatment. They make you feel like you got to do a certain type of thing. It happens every day."
Cardi says, though, that at this stage in her career, she no longer experiences such instances of sexual misconduct.
"Oh, hell no," she said. "I’ll put you on blast on my Instagram. I’ll f*cking violate."
The Bodak Yellow hitmaker spoke about the #MeToo movement last year in an interview with Cosmopolitan. "A lot of video vixens have spoke about [sexual harassment] and nobody gives a f*ck," she said.
"When I was trying to be a vixen, people were like, ‘You want to be on the cover of this magazine?’ Then they pull their d*cks out. I bet if one of these women stands up and talks about it, people are going to say, ‘So what? You’re a ho. It don’t matter.’"
