Cardi B has poked fun at conservative pundit, Ben Shapiro, after he expressed outrage over her and Megan Thee Stallion's new single, WAP.

WAP, which stands for "wet a** p***y", has incited quite the furore on social media thanks to its explicit lyrics, and Shapiro is the latest right-wing figure to condemn the track for its apparent "vulgarity".

Shapiro, who is the co-founder of the conservative opinion website, The Daily Wire, took to his podcast to recite lyrics from the song. He then explained that WAP means "Wet a** p-word, p-word is female genitalia. And it gets significantly, significantly more vulgar, like a lot more vulgar".

"This is what feminists fought for," the 36-year-old continued. "This is what the feminist movement was all about, and if you say anything differently it’s ’cause you’re a misogynist, see?"

"It gets really really really vulgar," he added.

After clips from his podcast began making the rounds on social media, and attracting ridicule, Shapiro took to Twitter to write:

"Listen, guys. I fully explained on the show that it’s misogynistic to question whether graphic descriptions of “wet-a** p****” is empowering for women. “WAP” is obviously an incredibly profound statement of women’s empowerment, a la Susan B. Anthony. As I also discussed on the show, my only real concern is that the women involved — who apparently require a “bucket and a mop” — get the medical care they require. My doctor wife’s differential diagnosis: bacterial vaginosis, yeast infection, or trichomonis."

Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar, has now acknowledged Shapiro's sentiments in the best possible way.

The rapper shared a number of tweets mocking Shapiro. She retweeted an image of The Simpsons character, Waylon Smithers, covering his eyes and half-naked women dance in front of him.

She also tweeted, "I can’t believe conservatives soo mad about WAP."

WAP has rocketed to number one on the iTunes, Apple Music and Spotify charts after it was released last Friday (7th August).
