Chris Martin made a six-word joke after Andy Byron was seemingly caught embracing his colleague Kristin Cabot at a Coldplay concert.

The awkward scene unfolded live onstage when Chris Martin, addressing the audience, announced: “Oh, look at these two.”

The camera zoomed in on Byron with his arms wrapped around Cabot, prompting her to cover her face in surprise while Byron ducked out of frame. Martin quipped: “Alright, come on – you're okay. Okay, what? Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy.”

He later added: “Holy sh*t! I hope we didn’t do something bad.”

The Coldplay frontman then started asking other couples a pretty funny joke: "Are you two a legitimate couple?"

After jumping apart, the duo exited the screen, leaving the audience - and millions online - wondering about the nature of the moment.

Videos shared on TikTok quickly went viral after viewers learned both Byron and Cabot are married to other people.

Within hours, an image of a purported apology statement from the Astronomer CEO, quoting a Coldplay lyric, began circulating.

TMZ reports that the company has confirmed the message is fake. Astronomer told TMZ it was “not a real statement” and declined to confirm whether Byron will release an official response.

Andy Byron became CEO of Astronomer in 2023. The New York–based platform specializes in mission-critical analytics, AI, and software, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Kristin Cabot, Chief People Officer, joined the company nine months ago. The Sun notes she appears to have removed “Thornby” - her second surname - from her social media profiles since the clip went viral.

So far, neither Byron nor Cabot has commented publicly. Astronomer has also remained silent aside from debunking the fake apology.

Grace Springer, 28, from New Jersey, was the person who filmed the moment, and she now has regrets.

“I had no idea who the couple was. Just thought I caught an interesting reaction to the kiss cam and decided to post it,” Grace told The U.S. Sun. She admitted feeling conflicted about the fallout.

“A part of me feels bad for turning these people’s lives upside down, but, play stupid games… win stupid prizes.”

She offered a compassionate take: “I hope their partners can heal from this and get a second chance at the happiness they deserve with their future still in front of them. I hope, for them, my video was a blessing in disguise.”

Grace traveled to Boston with friends to see the British band and said the incident was the talk of the night. “It was definitely a hot topic, but no one knew who they were,” she added.
