Chris Rock has broken his silence since the alarming physical altercation that occurred between him and Will Smith at the Oscars on Sunday night.

The 94th Academy Awards saw one of the biggest scandals in Oscars history take place on stage as it was broadcast to millions of viewers around the world.

Rock, presenting the award for Best Documentary, had made a joke about Smith's wife Jada Pinkett Smith in reference to her buzz cut.

The King Richard star, 53, didn't take too kindly to the gag, after initially appearing to laugh at it, and took to the stage to hit the 57-year-old comic.

Rock had remained silent since the incident until Wednesday night at his comedy show in Boston, where he told his audience he was still "processing what happened."

Following an almost two-minute standing ovation, Rock told his audience at the Wilbur Theater: “You got me all misty and s***,” The New York Post reports.

“How was your weekend?” Rock then asked the jubilant crowd at his show, which had been scheduled before he was slapped by Smith at the Oscar ceremony.

“I don’t have a bunch of s*** about what happened,” he said with regards to the incident over the weekend. I had like a whole show I wrote before this weekend. I’m still kinda processing what happened. So at some point, I’ll talk about that s***.”

“Sue him Chris, sue him,” one member of the crowd yelled out.

“So I’m gonna tell some jokes. It’s nice to be out,” the comic continued.

Smith has since publicly apologized to Rock after omitting the comic from his Oscar acceptance speech apology.

A day after the dramatic events of the ceremony, Smith took to Instagram to write: "Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally."

He continued: "I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness."

The Pursuit of Happiness star also apologized once more to the Academy, to the Williams family (the father of which he played in his Oscar-winning film), and to the cast and crew of said movie.

Rock decided against pressing charges against Smith.
