Tony Rock has shared his thoughts on his brother, Chris Rock, being smacked by Will Smith during the Oscars last weekend.
During his stand-up comedy gig on Friday in Raleigh, North Carolina, the 47-year-old comic kicked things off by refreshing the crowd's memory of the incident which involved his 57-year-old brother and 53-year-old actor Will Smith.
Issuing a warning to his crowd, he said: "If you think you gonna walk up on this stage, this ain't the motherf***ing Oscars. And if you walk your a** up here, you ain't nominated for s*** but these motherf***ing hands. Oh, we going to pop the rest of the year, n****. Every time you see me do a show, pop!"
Check out what Tony Rock had to say about the incident at the Oscars last weekend:“I didn’t want to start the show like that!” he went on as he threw his hands in the air. “You gonna hit my motherf***ing brother because your b**** gave you a side-eye?”
The day after his stand-up show, Rock was asked by a fan on Twitter if he "approved" of Smith's apology to his brother, to which he replied with a firm "No."
Also, when a fan asked whether P Diddy had been lying when he said Rock and Smith had made up after their altercation, Tony replied: "Yep".
Smith has since apologized to Rock for hitting him at the Oscars, which he did in response to a joke the comic had made about his wife Jada Pinkett smith's shaved head.
He said in the post: "Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally."
Sharing his remorse, he penned: "I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness."
