You can say what you want about Chrissy Teigen.

No, seriously - you can. It's a free country. Just be warned, though, because she has a track record of saying something back.

The 32-year-old former model has a knack for hitting back at haters on social media, especially when anyone dares to come for her family or her parenting methods.

Last week, for example, she called out commenters on Instagram after they implied she was a bad mother for taking her younger child, baby Miles, out into the sun without protection on his face. However, her clapback apparently didn't reach everyone, as someone else decided to criticise the mother-of-two for something else this weekend.

In another Insta post, Teigen shared an image of herself lounging outside on a deckchair while breastfeeding Miles... and a plastic doll. She explained the rather strange situation in the caption, saying: "Luna making me feed her babydoll so I guess I have twins now."

Adorable, right?

Well, apparently not for everyone. Some people decided that seeing a parent feeding her child was just too much for them, and - instead of unfollowing Teigen or muting her posts - decided to let her exactly how they felt about her display of motherly affection by leaving hateful comments.

As one hater put it: "Christ in a hand basket. Menstruating, childbirth and sex are natural, too, but that doesn't mean I want to see pics of it and/or celebrities like @chrissyteigen taking a bath or nursing. We get it."

But if the trolls thought they could get away with leaving a comment like that on Teigen's feed, they were so, SO wrong. 'Grammers flocked in their hundreds to give the few bad eggs an earful about why there is absolutely nothing problematic about breastfeeding in public or sharing images of it to social media.

"Thank you! This is beautiful and real. THIS IS WHAT NORMALIZING BREASTFEEDING LOOKS LIKE," wrote one fan. "Kids who see it know that it’s how babies eat and remember that it’s how they felt love, security, and connection. Why wouldn’t Luna want her 'baby' to have that too. I love this!!"

"Stunning momma and what a beautiful thing to share with your daughter!" said another. "Thank you for being you and using your platform to display beautiful things and shutting the haters down. I look up to you for it!! Congratulations on your second child!"

But, of course, Teigen had the best response to her critics:

And, when another guy with an opinion decided to pipe up by saying, "I think it’s perfectly fine for women who breast feed in public. They are doing it because they need to. When you post on social media that you are doing it, it comes across as narcissistic though," Teigen had a response for that, too.

So, the main takeaways from this are: 1) don't ever criticise a person for breastfeeding their child, and 2) trolling Chrissy Teigen on social media is never going to go well. And if we could all start paying more attention to those things, the world would be a marginally better place.
