Chrissy Teigen has taken to Twitter to share a powerful thread about the importance of normalizing formula milk.

She did so to reduce the amount of stigma around moms who do not breastfeed, with the saying "breast is best" often making many parents feel upset and ashamed and for being unable to do something which is not always a choice.

Watch this adorable video of John Legend playing piano with his son Miles:

"Ok I'm gonna say something and you all are definitely gonna make it a thing but here goes: normalize formula," Chrissy wrote.

"Normalize breastfeeding is such a huge, wonderful thing. But I absolutely felt way more shame having to use formula because of lack of milk from depression and whatnot."

She went on: "People have surrogates, people have trouble breastfeeding, and all you hear as a new, anxious mom is how breast is best."

"'Normalise breastfeeding' is great. 'Normalise formula' is great, too! So yeah. That's all! Normalize formula! Your baby is gonna be BEAUTIFUL, PERFECT, AND OKAY."

"I remember pumping my ASS OFF, highest mode, so often, because I didn't trust milk was going into their mouths if I breastfed. it drove me mad to the point I could only get an ounce. An ounce!"

"The stress of it, combined with the guilt that you cannot do nature's most natural thing for your own baby is too much. I dunno why this is my crusade now.

"I just remember the sadness I felt and want you to know you are doing it right if your baby is fed, mama."

Chrissy's candid thread was met with widespread praise on the social media website.

One Twitter user wrote: "‘Fed is best’ is the only thing we need to remember during the breast vs. Formula debate."

A second added: "I agree. Not all women can breast feed [sic] and no one should be shamed because of it. Or even if they just don't want to."

A third echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of choice by writing: "Normalize everything a mother wants to choose."

This is not the only thing Chrissy is being praised for opening up about recently, either, and the mom-of-two has been commended for breaking the stigma around miscarriage by opening up about the loss of her son Jack earlier this year.

Recently, for example, Chrissy shared the moving way her daughter Luna, 4, is remembering baby Jack.
