Model and influencer Chrissy Teigen has publically criticized Melania Trump over the Trump administration's perceived lackluster response to the coronavirus pandemic.
The trouble began when the First Lady took to Twitter to promote her Be Best initiative to combat cyberbullying, and uploaded a picture of a tennis pavilion being constructed on the grounds of the White House.
Watch this embarrassing moment from Trump's coronavirus address:Melania tweeted: "I encourage everyone who chooses to be negative & question my work at the @WhiteHouse to take time and contribute something good & productive in their own communities. #BeBest [sic]"
Responding to the First Lady's message, Teigen wrote in a profanity-strewn rant on Twitter: "Has melania even thought about doing something with her be best sh*t during these times? I see regular-*ss awesome people on my timeline all day doing all they can to make people happy and this wifebot is working on whatever the f*ck a tennis gazebo is. [sic]"
She continued: "ALL I have seen this bot do is gently touch Christmas ornaments in a cape and stare in a cape and pat statues in a different cape and then change her cape into a rude *ss jacket. F*ck you."
Chrissy's rant comes a week after the World Health Organisation designated the COVID-19 virus a pandemic. WHO wrote in an official statement: that they had been: "Assessing this outbreak around the clock, and we are deeply concerned both by the alarming levels of spread and severity, and by the alarming levels of inaction. We have therefore made the assessment that COVID-19 can be characterized as a pandemic."
The statement continued: "Pandemic is not a word to use lightly or carelessly. It is a word that, if misused, can cause unreasonable fear, or unjustified acceptance that the fight is over, leading to unnecessary suffering and death."
At the time of writing, there have now been 202,272 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across 114 countries worldwide, and a total of 8,015 deaths.
