Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s finances are coming into sharper focus following the Australian-American actor's recent divorce filing after nearly 20 years of marriage.
Earlier this week, Kidman filed court papers in Nashville, Tennessee, the city where she and Urban have long been based with their two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. The filing officially marked the end of one of Hollywood’s longest-running celebrity marriages.
The prenup’s “cocaine clause”
As details of the split surface, one alleged element of the couple’s 2006 prenuptial agreement has resurfaced in headlines. Dubbed the “cocaine clause,” the section reportedly stipulated that Urban (who has publicly discussed past struggles with substance abuse) would receive $600,000 from Kidman for each year of their marriage in which he remained sober.
Over the course of their 19 years together, that clause could have added up to just over a whopping $11 million for Urban.
Net worth and earnings
Kidman, who Forbes named the world’s highest-paid female actor in 2024, has an estimated net worth of around $250 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. She reportedly earned $31 million last year alone thanks to starring roles in high-profile projects including Lioness, The Perfect Couple, Expats, the rather controversial Babygirl, and A Family Affair.
Urban’s net worth, meanwhile, is estimated at approximately $75 million, much of it from his career as a Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, musician, and composer, along with revenue from touring.
Court documents detail monthly income
Court filings obtained by E! News reveal the couple’s combined monthly income was listed at $200,000, broken down evenly between the two at $100,000 each. To put that in perspective, their monthly paychecks exceed what many Americans earn in an entire year.
The Child Support Worksheet, which formed part of their custody agreement, also outlined that neither Kidman nor Urban will pay alimony or spousal support to the other. In addition, neither parent is required to provide child support.
Custody agreement for their daughters
Kidman has requested to be named the “primary residential parent” of their daughters. Under the custody plan both parties have agreed to, Sunday and Faith will live with Kidman for 306 days each year and spend 59 days annually with Urban, according to ELLE.
The financial disclosures, along with the custody agreement, shed light on the behind-the-scenes negotiations of one of Hollywood’s most high-profile splits.
