A TikTok user claims to have discovered something eerie on the grounds of their newly-built neighborhood.
Casey, who also goes by the handle @cursedhome, posted a video onto the social media a platform giving viewers what appeared to be harmless tour around his recently-constructed cul-de-sac.
However, as he walked along the road, Casey couldn't help but think that the nature sounds he could so loudly felt a little bit artificial.
As he and his girlfriend explored the surrounding area around their new home, the couple soon uncovered something pretty bizarre.
Take a look at the creepy footage in the video below:In the captions for the footage, Casey states: "We started to realize all the bird and nature sounds were on repeat. We then started to find actual speakers hidden everywhere."
The clip then shows him turning over rocks and investigating the various nooks and crannies of the surrounding environs, only to learn that the nature sounds were actually issuing from a number of hidden speakers.
Suffice it to say, but when Casey uploaded the baffling footage, it quickly picked up a lot of attention, garnering over a million views, 173,000 reactions, 4,600 shares, and a further 3,900 comments as of the time of writing.
In the comments, a number of TikTok users shared their own personal theories on the origins and purpose of the hidden speakers, some of which were serious, while others were more tongue-in-cheek.

For instance, in a reference to the Jim Carrey movie where he plays a character unaware that his entire life is a meticulously constructed reality TV show, one person wrote: "Did somebody say the truman show? [sic]"

Meanwhile, another person opined: "Maybe it's to attract the animals back to the disrupted area?"

Someone else commented simply: "I guess we are in a simulation."

A third commenter wrote: "It's probably to keep animals away, we have speakers like this outside supermarkets in the UK that play bird sounds."

Meanwhile, another person wrote: "It's to play Sims music when you're buying furniture," in a reference to the popular life-sim video game franchise.
So what do you think the mysterious speakers are for? Do you believe their presence is benign? Or has Casey stumbled upon a sinister conspiracy?
