A woman has been advised to pack up and leave her house after she filmed creepy black wires hanging from her tap.

The woman, who is only known by her first name Lucy, took to TikTok to share a video of what she thought were wires sticking out of her bathroom tap, but it turned out to be something, much, much worse.

She wrote in the caption: "So I saw these things sticking out the bath tap," and then zoomed in on the black wires.

The woman then turned the tap on, and to her horror, a spider came gushing out with the water.

Needless to say, the video did not go unnoticed on social media. The clip instantly racked up almost 100k comments at the time of writing.

Many people were of the opinion that she should move out after the discovery, while others suggested drastic measures such as burning the entire house down.

One TikTok user simply wrote: "Move out."

A second joked: "Why did I feel like the spider was going to jump at the camera."

While a third wrote: "Me laying in the bath poking my toe up the tap. [Nope] never again!"

A fourth added: "I was hiding in the comments thinking I wouldn't see it and it came above the comments."

Meanwhile, a sixth wrote: "Omg my arachnophobia almost turned on for a sec."

However, some TikTok comments suggested that all was not what it seemed in the viral video.

One TikTok user wrote: "That's a toy spider."

And when Lucy zooms in on the spider inside the tap, we really do have to agree.

What do you think? Was this a toy spider, or a real one? And if it was real, what would you have done in Lucy's shoes?
