David Beckham sends emotional holiday message to Brooklyn after son unfollowed him on Instagram
David Beckham has extended a touching olive branch to his estranged son Brooklyn, sharing heartfelt family tributes on Instagram as 2025 came to a close.
The football legend, 50, posted a series of snaps that included Brooklyn, 26, marking a sharp contrast from last year when Brooklyn was notably absent from major family events.
Sharing a black-and-white image of wife Victoria cradling Harper and snuggling with Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz, David wrote: “You are my life [heart emojis]. I love you all, love daddy. On to 2026 x”
In a separate post, he shared a selfie with Brooklyn, cheek to cheek, captioned: “I love you all so much.”
Beckham’s 2025 highlights reel had excluded Brooklyn
The surprise posts come just days after David dropped his 2025 highlights reel - a recap that celebrated his 50th birthday, his knighthood by King Charles, and other big family milestones. Noticeably absent from the reel was Brooklyn.
David had written: “I feel very lucky to have had the year I’ve had in 2025 full of moments that I will never forget from my 50th to my knighthood (still pinching myself ) and then finishing with winning the MLS as an owner.”
He added, “I‘m so grateful to my incredible wife, my amazing children, my friends and team I work with every single day nothing would have been possible without you all… But as Sir Alex Ferguson would say ‘On to the next‘. Thank you for the incredible memories I will forever remember 2025. Victoria I love you & our kids.”
While he didn’t name Brooklyn directly, the gesture of including him in the new posts seems like a clear step toward reconciliation.
Family feud and Christmas apart
The Beckham family rift became public earlier in the year after Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz skipped David’s 50th birthday in May.
Tensions appeared to escalate when Cruz hinted the couple had blocked family members on social media. Brooklyn later posted a TikTok using the lyrics: “Sorry I cannot hear you I’m kinda busy,” while Nicola shared, “I love being home” during their holiday in the US.
They remained Stateside for Christmas, sharing cozy pictures in matching outfits. Brooklyn commented on Nicola’s post: “You’re my sweetie pie!”
Meanwhile, David and Victoria spent Christmas in the Cotswolds, sharing a video of them dancing together to Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb’s “Guilty,” with the lyric, “And we’ve got nothing to be sorry for...” raising eyebrows over its timing.
Brooklyn also missed the wedding of childhood friend Holly Ramsay, which the rest of the Beckham clan attended. Victoria even designed the dress for Holly’s mother.
