Dax Shepard has revealed that he has gained 24lbs in his attempt to get Marvel superhero "huge" throughout lockdown.
Speaking with Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis on his Armchair Expert podcast on Wednesday, the 46-year-old actor explained that he felt the need to take his fitness into his own hands after realizing that Marvel probably isn't going to call him for a role anytime soon.
"In quarantine, I said to [my wife Kristen Bell]: 'I've been waiting for 10 years for Marvel to call so that I'd have an excuse to get huge,'" the CHIPS star said. "And they're not gonna call. That ship sailed. I'm 46, they're not gonna call. So I just have to do it for my own amusement."
During the podcast, 43-year-old Kutcher even went as far as to compare Shepard's new physique to He-Man.
Shepard has shared a handful of pics showcasing his bigger frame on Instagram over the last few months, and even revealed to Kutcher and Kunis that he has "gained about 24lbs" after working out six days a week.
He said that his transformation is down to "lifting heavy, protein shakes, going bananas, heavy testosterone injections."
"Mentally, I love it because it makes me far more on fire to be alive," Shepard said. "I was depressed after CHIPS. I was literally retiring, that was the plan, I'm out... All of a sudden I was on fire to work."
"This is the version I enjoy," he added.
The Parenthood star then said that his average weight is usually 185lbs - but now he clocks in at an impressive 210lbs.
"I spent my whole life as a medium boy, and now I'm a big boy and I like it," he said.
After sharing an Instagram post showing him and some friends working out on Father's Day, Shepard's fans couldn't help but comment on his bigger build.

"Good lord you're a big boy," one commenter wrote.
One Instagram user even joked: "If my dad looked like Dax when I [was a] kid I would’ve had a major identity crisis because I would’ve thought my dad was secretly Batman."
With the MCU seemingly getting bigger and bigger, let's hope we see Shepard in a cape and spandex very soon.
