The infamous rapper was arrested earlier last month in Manhattan, New York, just a few months after federal authorities carried out a sex trafficking investigation and raided both his homes in Los Angeles and Miami.

He is now being detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn after prosecutors charged him with multiple offenses including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

While the 54-year-old, who is often referred to by his real name Sean Combs, has pleaded not guilty to the crimes, authorities are currently delving into reports from at least 120 people who have come forward with sexual assault allegations against the music mogul that span two decades, as per Sky News.

Tony Buzbee, a lawyer from Houston representing the accusers, stated that 60 male and 60 female victims, the youngest being only nine years old, are hoping to file new lawsuits within the next month or so outlining the alleged misconduct they suffered at the hands of Diddy.

Not only that but previous claims of abuse from his ex-partner Cassie Ventura, which alleged that the disgraced star was violent physically, emotionally, and sexually, still remain a hot talking point for many despite the initial lawsuit being settled for an undisclosed amount of money.

This, combined with harrowing footage taken back in March 2016 showing the 'Finna Get Loose' hitmaker seemingly grabbing, kicking, and dragging Ventura in a hotel, does not paint a good picture of the musician who has been doubling down on his innocence from prison.

As new details related to the allegations continue to be released, Diddy's mother Janice Smalls Combs has released a statement defending her son, stating that he is not the "monster" people are painting him out to be.

"I come to you today as a mother that is devastated and profoundly saddened by the allegations made against my son, Sean Combs. It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth, but for a narrative created out of lies,” she said in a statement shared with Us Weekly on Sunday (October 6).

The statement, which was filed by her attorney Natlie G. Figgers, continued: "To bear witness [sic] what seems to be like a public lynching of my son before he has had the opportunity to prove his innocence is a pain too unbearable to put into words. Like every human being, my son deserves to have this day in court, to finally share his side, and to prove his innocence."

The heartbroken mom went on to explain that she was "not here to portray [her] son as perfect because he is not," adding: "He has made mistakes in his past, as we all have.”

"My son may not have been entirely truthful about certain things, such as denying he has ever gotten violent with an ex-girlfriend when the hotel’s surveillance showed otherwise." she continued. "Sometimes, the truth and a lie become so closely intertwined that it becomes terrifying to admit one part of the story, especially when that truth is outside the norm or is too complicated to be believed."

Janice then stated that this is the reason why Diddy and Ventura decided to settle things outside of court but this resulted in "a ricochet effect as the federal government used this decision against my son by interpreting it as an admission of guilt," according to her.

“Not being entirely straightforward about one issue does not mean my son is guilty of the repulsive allegations and the grave charges leveled against him. Many individuals who were wrongfully convicted and later exonerated had their freedom taken from them not because they were guilty of the crimes they were accused of, but because they didn’t fit the image of what this society considers to be a ‘good person,'" she added, before going on to emphasize how it feels to watch the world "turn against" her son without giving him a chance to explain himself.

The statement went on: "These lies thrown at him are motivated by those seeking a financial gain, and not justice. These individuals saw how quickly my son’s civil legal team settled his ex-girlfriend’s lawsuit, so they believe they can receive a quick payday by falsely accusing my son.

"False allegations of sexual assault thwart true victims of sexual violence from getting the justice they deserve," Diddy's mom concluded.

If Combs is convicted of the named crimes, he faces a minimum of 15 years in prison.

This is a developing story and will be updated accordingly.
