Last night's Met Gala event saw some great moments in fashion history take front and center stage at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Some of the world's most notable celebrities gathered together to celebrate all things Karl Lagerfeld including the likes of Kim Kardashian, Naomi Campbell, Lizzo, and Pedro Pascal.
While the stunning gowns and suits may have stolen the limelight - as they should - there were a few other moments that also garnered some buzz.
From Jack Harlow reuniting with Emma Chamberlain after their incredibly awkward interaction at last year's event all the way to Robert Pattinson and Suki Waterhouse making their Met Gala debut together, we were treated to an array of great moments.
However, one definitely stood out from the rest and it may have been one of the most bizarre things we have ever witnessed on the beige carpet...
Doja Cat left fans confused after she meowed her way through an entire interview.
It seems as though the 'Like That' singer got fully into character, channeling Lagerfeld's beloved pet cat, Choupette, a little too literally.
During an interview with Emma Chamberlain for Vogue, the 27-year-old responded to questions with cat noises.
When asked who made her outfit, she replied: "Meow."
Chamberlain responded back with, "Wow, ok, so something a little different. So what was your inspiration for tonight, be honest with me, and go into detail."
To which Doja replied in character once again saying: "Meow, meow, meow."
Social media fans took to TikTok to talk about the strange moment after a snippet of the interview was reposted there.
"The security in the back trying not to laugh," pointed out one user.
Another asked: "Is this real?"
A third stated: "All jokes aside why is she so good at it."
And the comments didn't stop there.
"Emma asking her to go into detail," laughed another user, while someone else described Doja as "unserious."
Last night's appearance marks a massive milestone for the 27-year-old singer as she made her Met Gala debut.
Teaming up with her stylist and creative director Brett Alan Nelson as well as Oscar de La Renta’s co-creative director Fernando Garcia to execute this bold look, Doja stunned fans as she posed for the cameras.
"It makes no sense for anyone to go as Karl’s cat more than Doja Cat," said Nelson. "Oscar and Karl were very close. And the look feels very Oscar, but also like something Chanel could do at a couture show."
"She’s not furry, but I had images of Choupette as references," said prosthetic artist Malina Stearns of the look.
"Amala and I were very clear that we didn’t want it to feel like a costume, and when you’re adding that element of prosthetics, you’re riding a very fine line," Nelson added.
