After watching Dolly Parton's spectacular Thanksgiving Day performance, fans are now clamoring to have the star perform at the Super Bowl.

The Super Bowl Halftime Show is undoubtedly one of the most-watched live music performances of the year. In fact, according to Billboard, a whopping 121 million viewers tuned in to watch Rihanna’s 2023 performance during Super Bowl LVII - making it the most-watched halftime show in history.

And the event has hosted some of the biggest names in the history of the music industry - such as Madonna, Michael Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Prince, Shakira, Coldplay, and The Rolling Stones.

...But never Dolly Parton.

The 77-year-old country music star has been making headlines over Thanksgiving Weekend, after she took to the stage to perform at the halftime show for Thursday's Commanders-Cowboys game in Dallas.

Performing at AT&T Stadium, Parton paid tribute to the hometown team by donning a blue and white Dallas Cowboys cheerleading outfit over a rhinestoned and sparkling flesh-colored bodysuit. Parton delighted fans with performances of '9 to 5', 'Jolene', and Queen's 'We Are the Champions/We Will Rock You'.

The performance was so good, in fact, that many viewers took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to beg for Parton to perform at next year's Super Bowl Halftime Show.

"Dolly Parton PLEASE do the Super Bowl Half Time Show! You are amazing," one person tweeted, with a second adding: "Dear @AppleMusic & @NFL, Who do I need to talk to get Dolly to play the Super Bowl next season? Please make it happen."

"I need a Dolly Parton Super Bowl halftime show after this," a third wrote.

And a fourth tweeted: "Dolly should perform at the halftime show for the Superbowl. Who’s with me?"

However, despite clearly being something that we would all love to see, Dolly has previously revealed that she has been asked multiple times to perform at the Super Bowl, and always said no.

During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Parton revealed that she has been offered the gig "many times", but has always turned it down due to its scale.

"I couldn’t do it because of other things, or I just didn’t think I was big enough to do it — to do that big of a production," she added. "I’ve never done anything with that big of a production. I don’t know if I could have. I think at the time that’s what I was thinking."

And don't get your hopes up about seeing Dolly at the Super Bowl in 2024, as that spot has already been confirmed.

Yes, back in September, it was announced that Usher will be performing the Halftime Show at Super Bowl LVIII on February 11, 2024.

The 45-year-old chart-topper is perhaps best known for his hits 'OMG', 'Love In This Club', and 'Yeah!' - meaning it should definitely be a show you won't want to miss.
