Drew Barrymore made quite the eyebrow-raising statement on today's episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, leaving her co-host Ross Mathews visibly flustered.
The amusingly awkward moment unfolded during a segment called Gimme the Brief, where Barrymore and Mathews played with Drive-Away Dolls stars Margaret Qualley, Beanie Feldstein, and Geraldine Viswanathan. Check out the moment below:
As Mathews explained the game's premise, Feldstein tackled the first question about her ideal historical figure to converse with, playfully mentioning Eleanor Roosevelt. However, things took a hilariously unexpected turn when Barrymore picked a briefcase asking for euphemisms for private body parts.
Barrymore candidly shared her own, recounting a breast cancer awareness segment where she affectionately dubbed her nipples as "little sausages".
The revelation left Mathews visibly startled, to which Barrymore teasingly asked: "Is that 'cause you’re gay or 'cause it didn’t look good?"
The quick-witted Mathews humorously replied: "Yes to both."
This certainly isn't the first time the 50 First Dates star has been open and honest with her fans.
In a blog post published in 2022, Barrymore - who shares two daughters with art consultant Will Kopelman - candidly revealed that she hasn't had sex with anyone since their divorce in 2016.
In the personal essay titled Rebels Who Love, the Charlie's Angels star explained that her approach to sex has changed over time - and for the better.
"Since entering life as a single mom, I have not been able to have an intimate relationship," Barrymore wrote. "At nearly 48 I have very different feelings about intimacy than I did growing up. I did not have role model parents and I engaged with people in grown-up ways since a tender age!
"I was looking for companionship! validation! excitement! pleasure! hedonism! fun! And adventures!!"
"So I now choose to look at it through a positive lens, which is that I lived! I lived a very rich full life," she continued. "However, after two kids and a separation from their father that has made me cautious, I have had the pleasure of shifting my focus when it comes to love for myself and my two daughters. I know that does not include a man nor has it for a while."
Drawing the blog post to a close, Barrymore emphasized that despite her seven years without it, she by no means hates sex.
"I have just finally come to the epiphany that love and sex are simply not the same thing," she said. "So for the record, I do not hate sex!"
That's why we love Drew -- always keeping it real.
