Following the unveiling of a new waxwork attraction based on Hollywood megastar Dwayne Johnson, some people have been left raising an eyebrow over the final design.

Dwayne Johnson is known by many names -- The Rock, The People's Champ, The Most Electrifying Man in All of Entertainment -- and after appearing in some of the biggest movies of all time, there's no doubt you'd recognize the guy if you saw him walking down the street.

However, according to some social media users, you may have trouble recognizing Johnson if you were to visit the Grévin Museum in Paris.

The waxwork museum is often a must-visit attraction for anybody visiting the French capital, but their latest exhibit honoring the 51-year-old Jumanji star has left a few people squinting.

Throughout the month, the museum has been teasing the arrival of its Johnson waxwork - holding competitions, sharing behind-the-scenes footage of the waxwork being created, and asking followers where the sculpture should be placed. But after so much build-up and anticipation, the final unveiling wasn't the main event reveal the museum was perhaps hoping for.

Johnson's waxwork shows the 6-foot-5 former WWE Champion in a blue polo shirt and with his arms folded. And while the stance certainly captures the confidence of The Rock, visually, his face looks a bit... off.

Sharing the big reveal to its 38,000 Instagram followers, people in the comments section were quick to voice their opinions.

"Not one of your best guys - considering the quality of the rest of the museum, there’s something not right about the sculpt on this," one person commented. A second echoed these sentiments, calling the waxwork, "[Dwayne] THE EXTRA INSTA SMOOTH FILTER Johnson."

Another even suggested that the waxwork looks more like fellow wrestler-turned-actor Dave Bautista.

But despite the critics, there were also plenty of people in the comments sections on both Facebook and Instagram - tagging their friends and sharing their excitement about finally being able to meet The Rock... 's waxwork.

What do you think of the sculpture? Do you think it's a good representation of Johnson? Or do you think it's more 'The Pebble' rather than 'The Rock'?

In other Dwayne-related news, rumors have been running rampant surrounding a return to a WWE ring for the former champion, ever since he made a surprise appearance on Friday Night SmackDown last month.

'The Great One' wrestled his last match for the company back in 2016, when he had an impromptu match with Wyatt Family member Erik Rowan at WrestleMania 32. However, this was certainly more of a "spot" than a match, as it only lasted a few seconds and consisted of Rock hitting one move to get the pin.

Nevertheless, fans have been speculating about a potential in-ring return for Rock ever since his cousin - Roman Reigns (Joseph Anoa'i) - was crowned the Undisputed WWE Universal Heavyweight Champion.

With a championship run that's lasted over 1,100 days, Reigns' whole "Head of the Table" character is based on his belief that he is the greatest wrestler to ever come from the famed Anoa'i family - which includes The Rock.

And with WrestleMania 40 taking place next year, many WWE fans were hoping to finally see Roman vs. Rock in a match to finally settle who is the best.

However, as reported by Ringside News, the rumors are just that -- rumors. The outlet reports that there is currently no match in The Great One's future, but that "The Rock is always going to want rumors out there about him".
