As far as Hollywood actors go, Leonardo DiCaprio seems like a pretty likeable guy. Whether it was his long-running search for an Oscar, his environmental campaigning, or the fact that he is continuously linked with a wide range of models, DiCaprio appears to be living his best life and enjoying it at the same time.
However, for all the fame, money, and awards, it appears even DiCaprio is not immune to having his image altered.
The 43-year-old actor is set to star in the latest Quentin Tarantino movie 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood' and gave fans a sneak preview of himself and Brad Pitt in character for the 2019 release.
In the image, DiCaprio and Pitt can be seen looking distinctively 60's, with the former Titanic actor rocking an orange leather jacket, yellow roll neck and sporting slicked back hair. Pitt, for his part, looks just as retro in his double denim ensemble and side-parting.
Of course, given the fanfare that follows actors such as DiCaprio and Pitt, his Instagram was awash with love heart-eyed emojis and people swooning at the latest image of the actor. However, the same picture was recently shared by the official 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood' account and eagle-eyed fans couldn't help but notice that there had been some alterations to the appearance of both actors.
Can't see it? Yeah, I'm not surprised.
How about now? No?
NOW? No, I'm still struggling as well.
Okay, so maybe this will help?
As you can see, Leo has undergone something of a chin lift. While it seems laughable that the actor would have requested to have his chin modified to such a minimal degree, it turns out that it actually wasn't his choice.
Speaking to PageSix, Sony confirmed that the edits had been done by them without the request of the actors: "The actors did not request any retouching of photography from Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood. We take full responsibility for the error."
Another source also confirmed that Leo wasn’t aware of the changes: "He wasn’t aware of any touch-ups nor did he request it."
The picture has now been deleted, with the original upload being used on the Instagram account instead.
DiCaprio will be playing Rick Dalton in the movie. Rick is a star of a small-screen Western whose transition to the big screen didn’t quite go to plan. Dalton's neighbour is Sharon Tate (played by Margot Robbie), and he is genuinely thinking about moving to Italy to appear in more low-budget Westerns when the movie finds him. Brad, for his part, will be portraying Cliff Booth, a close friend of Dalton’s and a longtime stunt double.
The film is set in the summer of 1969 and is focused on the period of time in which Charles Manson and his "Family" murdered Sharon Tate, Jay Sebring, Steven Parent, Wojciech Frykowksi, Abigail Folger, and Leon and Rosemary LaBianca. The cast of the movie, set to air in August 2019, also includes Al Pacino, Burt Reynolds, Dakota Fanning and Damian Lewis.
