Edward Norton is being targeted by some Johnny Depp fans online after appearing to support Amber Heard over her former husband.
It's been nearly a week since the Pirates of the Caribbean star won his high-profile defamation suit against Heard, and fan adoration for the actor is as high as ever.
In fact, some of his most devoted supporters have even resorted to calling out celebrities and ordinary people alike for appearing to support Heard, who owes her ex-spouse $8.35 million after seven jurors agreed that she had defamed the Hollywood star.
As reported by The Independent, Norton is believed to have liked a tweet from film critic AO Scott, who wrote: "Men need to be honest about what happened here."
The tweet includes a link to a New York Times article with the title: The Actual Malice of the Johnny Depp Trial.
Exposing the hate that American History X star, Norton, has since received on social media, one Twitter user took to the platform to share some examples of this "harassment".
"Legendary actor, Edward Norton is being harassed on [Instagram] by Depp supporters for supporting Amber Heard," wrote user @mehtabackupacc, alongside screenshots of hate comments targeting Norton.
One of the Instagram comments read: "WTF is wrong with you – supporting Heard? You WERE one of my favorite actors but no longer. Apparently you’re pretty damn dense and easily swayed by a bleached blonde gold-digger #boycottednorton."
Another read: "Hey, bud, just because you wanna support a liar isn’t gonna make her sleep with you."
Last week, Depp won his defamation lawsuit against Heard, in which he was seeking $50 million in damages.
He claimed he was defamed by his ex-wife in an op-ed she penned for The Washington Post in December 2018. It was titled: I spoke up against sexual violence — and faced our culture's wrath. That has to change.
In the piece, the 36-year-old actress referred to herself as a "public figure representing domestic abuse" and went on to say that she had "felt the full force of our culture's wrath for women who speak out."

Depp, 58, was not named in the op-ed, however, he maintained that the piece libeled as it was clearly based on previous allegations made by Heard that she had been referring to him in the op-ed.
On Wednesday, a Virginia jury awarded Depp $15 million after deciding Heard had indeed defamed him in all three counts of his lawsuit against her.
Jurors decided that Depp was entitled to $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages. However, as Virginia state law places an upper limit of $350,000 in punitive damages, Depp will actually be awarded $10.35 million.
Meanwhile, the jury awarded Heard $2 million in damages based on her $100 million countersuit. She had filed the counterclaim for defamation against Depp over statements his attorney made about her, namely his referring to her abuse allegations as a hoax.
As such, she now owes Depp $8.35 million.
