Ellen DeGeneres' talk show replacement has been revealed by the network following the news of her upcoming departure.

Per New York Post, NBC announced on Wednesday that Kelly Clarkson's daytime talk show will replace Ellen's usual timeslot after the end of season 19 in 2022.

Watch Ellen explain why she's ending her talk show:

A network spokesperson told New York Post:

"The Kelly Clarkson Show has earned its dominance in daytime by hitting every benchmark for success since it premiered as the most-watched talk show in seven years.

"The hour-long program, hosted by Grammy Award-winning artist and America’s original idol: Kelly Clarkson, features a mix of celebrity guests and everyday people doing extraordinary things in their communities.

"It airs in 100% of the country across 200 stations and is positioned to headline daytime in leading time periods by Fall 2022."

The 63-year-old comedian made headlines earlier this month after announcing that she would be ending her eponymous show after 18-years on the air.

Addressing her reasons in a monologue delivered to her live audience on set, Ellen stated: "The truth is, I've always trusted my instincts, and my instinct told me it's time.

"The past 18 years have changed my life. You've changed my life. I am forever grateful to all of you for watching, for laughing, for dancing... sometimes crying.

"This show has been the greatest experience of my life and I owe it all to you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you."

Ellen had told the New York Times back in 2018 that her wife, Arrested Development actress Portia de Rossi, urged her to step down from the show due to her heavy workload - which requires that she host 180 episodes each year.

However, the production was dogged by controversy in September of 2020, following a number of allegations from ex-staff members of a "toxic workplace" on the set of her talk show.

DeGeneres was accused by multiple people on social media of bullying and abusive behavior, racial insensitivity, and other professional misconduct in the workplace.

She later apologized for any offense or poor conduct on her part, stating: "I learned that things happened here that never should have happened. I take that very seriously and I want to say that I am so sorry to the people who were affected."
