Emily Ratajkowski has had enough of insecure men.
The 31-year-old recently opened up on the ins and outs of dating on a new episode of her popular podcast HighLow with EmRata alongside the episode's special guest, Olivia Ponton.
In particular, the model delved into why she has had a hard time finding 'the one', explaining that a lot of men feel "emasculated" by strong women, adding that they "truly think they want" a partner with independence, but then "don’t know how to handle" them.
Speaking to Ponton, Ratajkowski said: "I have always felt like I’m a strong woman, but obviously as you get older, you really don’t need a man. And you’re like, OK, this is what everybody has told me. Men have said, ‘I like independent women. I want somebody who doesn’t need me.'"
"So I’m like, 'Okay, I did it, wow,'" she continues. "What I hate with dating men, in particular, is I feel like they’re like, ‘Okay, yes. You’re special. You’ve done it..."
Ratajkowski then goes on to add that despite these men claiming that they want an "independent" woman, they always end up feeling "emasculated" and go on to "tear you down."
"They love it, then slowly they get emasculated, and they don’t know what to do with those feelings. And then they resent you and then they start to tear you down.
"And then you’re just back to square one."
The 31-year-old slammed the entire situation as "f***** up and unfair" stating that "a lot of men who truly think they want a strong woman actually don’t know how to handle it and they don’t know what it means for their own identity," also adding that ".[...] with heteronormative relationships, I think that that happens."
She adds: "The strength and the power is associated with the masculine, and once a woman has that, a man doesn’t know what else he has. But I’m like, 'How about you just be better at expressing your emotions and being there emotionally? That would be great.'"
Louder for those in the back!
Elsewhere in the interview, the pair discussed the impact of male validation and the ever-changing views on what a woman should be in a relationship.
Ponton, 20, explained how some male partners in her past wanted her to be their mother while they were with them and said that she had no intention of being that.
Ratajkowski responded with a story of her own, saying that she attracts the "worst men."
"...I want a confident man. I don’t want an overly confident man who has something to prove and is trying to prove it through me. That is not what I want."
The news comes just months after the 'My Body' author called it quits with her husband Sebastian Bear-McClard amid cheating rumors. Ratajkowski filed for divorce in September just over a year after giving birth to their son, Sylvester Apollo Bear.
