Fans of Brendan Fraser have taken to social media to celebrate his "comeback" to the screen.

The Mummy star has already made something of a return to the public consciousness by playing the superheroic character of Cliff Steele (aka Robotman) in the DC TV series Doom Patrol.

However, after it was recently announced that the 52-year-old actor would join the cast of Martin Scorsese's Apple TV movie Killers Of The Flower Moon and Max Barbakow's Brothers, many people boarded the hype train to celebrate his return to the mainstream.

For example, responding to a Deadline report on the above, one Twitter user wrote: "Good for him. I’m so glad to see him working, and doing quality work at that."

Meanwhile, another person tweeted: "Brendan Fraser deserves a huge comeback, not just because he’s super talented, but also because he’s a damn hero and brave as hell."

A third Twitter user wrote: "The Brendan Fraser renaissance is upon us!"

Another commenter stated: "I’m so happy that he’s having this second wave to his career."

Finally, this person chimed in: "I am 100% here for the rebirth of Brendan Fraser."

The actor also recently had a part in the upcoming Darren Aronofsky movie, The Whale, in which he plays a 600-pound middle-aged man who tries to reconnect with his 17-year-old daughter.

Commenting on the role in a January interview with Vulture,  "This story is deeply personal and I’m very thankful it will have the chance to reach a wider audience."

In a 2018 interview with GQ, the actor claimed that his career had been negatively impacted due to an alleged sexual assault at the hands of the former president of the HFPA, Philip Berk, in the summer of 2003.

The actor claimed that Berk groped him inappropriately in a crowded room, in a moment that left the actor overcome with panic and fear.

He told GQ: "Am I still frightened? Absolutely. Do I feel like I need to say something? Absolutely. Have I wanted to many, many times? Absolutely. Have I stopped myself? Absolutely."

One thing is for sure, we cannot wait to see what Fraser does next!
