Fans have been comparing Zac Efron to Human Shrek and it's seriously blowing up all over social media.

Over the past few years, Efron, best known for his roles in Disney Channel's High School Musical and more recently, the movie The Iron Claw, based on the lives of the Von Erich brothers, has been the subject of some pretty harsh trolling online.

The latest comparison that seems to be doing the rounds online comes after the actor's recent appearance at a Walmart morning meeting in Bentonville, Arkansas, in support of Kodiak Cakes, which he is a brand ambassador for.

The event saw the star take the stage dressed head to toe in the company's official merch as he showed off his incredible physique in a red, plaid shirt while sporting a thick beard.

After seeing the snapshots, which were posted to Instagram by Garrett Gear, many took to other platforms such as TikTok to discuss the 36-year-old's appearance.

In a viral video, user @officially_lindsay, AKA Lindsay, compared Efron to 'Human Shrek' and now, others can't un-see it either.

"Somebody said that Zac Efron now looks like Human Shrek and I can't un-see it now," she said in the video that has been viewed over three million times.

The TikToker proceeded to fake sob while covering her face with her hands.

"Shrek Efron," she said, continuing to grimace at the thought before adding: "Leave my baby Zac alone. You can always bet on him, okay?"

Other users gathered in the comments to discuss the situation, with many praising his appearance - as they should!

"Shrek Efron... I’m dying," wrote one user.

"He was my type when I was 16, he was still my type at 25 and he’s still my type at 30. We all know human Shrek is divine!" another added.

And this user agreed stating: "Human Shrek was explicitly a hunk in the movie, so good for Zac..."

A fourth also chimed in with: "This is it. The sign that we need a Live Action Shrek film series with Zac Efron as human Shrek."

Others pointed out: "He looks great, happy and healthy, he’s been though a lot like the situation with his jaw, that was scary."

It comes after the 17 Again star got candid about the change in his appearance after a frightening accident saw the star completely shatter his jaw amid rumors that he underwent a botched cosmetic surgery.

Speaking to Men's Health back in 2022, he recalled how he slipped on a pair of socks while running at his home, causing him to smash his chin into a granite fountain.

He explained that he lost consciousness and woke up with "his chin bone hanging off his face."

The actor told the publication that as a result of his injury, his chewing or "masseter muscles" had to overcompensate, saying: "The masseters just grew," adding: "They just got really, really big."

Efron added that he deliberately keeps away from social media and was unaware of the uproar online about his appearance until he received a phone call from his mom.

He told Entertainment Tonight: "My mom told me. I don’t really read the internet, so I don’t really care."

He added that if he did pay attention to all the whispers, he wouldn't be able to do the work he does.

We're thankful that the star is doing well and is really out here living his best life.
