"Adele's got me missing people i havent even met yet [sic]," wrote one Twitter user, while another corroborated, "Me pretending to be going through a divorce & listening to @Adele."

"Adele’s song being called easy on me is ironic because she did in fact NOT go easy on me," wrote a third.

Another posited: "Personally i am very offended that adele chose to release this song when i am not experiencing heartbreak. might dump someone just to feel something [sic]."

"Adele babe was that tune supposed to be easy on me because???" one Twitter user joked.

"Adele really gon make a grown-ass man cry on a Friday morning I- [sic]," wrote another — and we completely agree.

This comes after the famously private singer opened up about her 2019 divorce from Simon Konecki, and the impact that it had on their young son, Angelo, in a new interview with British Vogue.

She revealed that her upcoming album was recorded to help her nine-year-old understand why she and Konecki got divorced.

"I wanted to explain to him through this record, when he's in his twenties or thirties, who I am and why I voluntarily chose to dismantle his entire life in the pursuit of my own happiness," she said.

"It made him really unhappy sometimes. And that's a real wound for me that I don't know if I'll ever be able to heal," she added. "I wanted to put it on the album to show Angelo what I expect him to treat his partner like, whether it be a woman or a man or whatever. After going through a divorce, my requirements are sky-high. There’s a very big pair of shoes to fill."
