Fans have been sending their well-wishes to iconic actor Morgan Freeman after he fell ill.

The A Good Person actor, 86, was noticeably absent from a planned UK press tour with his co-stars in the highly anticipated spy thriller, Special Ops: Lioness.

Freeman, who is beloved by fans worldwide, was supposed to join fellow stars Zoe Saldana and Nicole Kidman on the promotional tour, but fell ill and stayed in the US.

The award-winning actor was missing from a series of London-based media events, including a special screening of the Paramount+ show on Tuesday. Saldana and Kidman, however, managed to attend, keeping the show's momentum strong.

When the duo appeared on the UK's The One Show, host Alex Jones candidly expressed her disappointment at Freeman's absence. A representative for the actor shared with MailOnline that "Morgan has a fever and his doctor felt he had a contagious infection, so he cancelled his trip. He is fine now."

Despite battling fibromyalgia, Freeman is prepping for the release of his latest venture, the Paramount+ series Special Ops: Lioness. The show is a thrilling departure for writer Taylor Sheridan, typically known for his westerns. Along with Freeman, the series also stars Saldana and Kidman, Laysla De Oliveira, and Michael Kelly.

In the upcoming show, set to premiere on July 23, Freeman embodies Edwin Mullins, the United States secretary of state. Saldana shines in the lead role as Joe, head of The Lioness Program, while Kidman portrays Kaitlyn Meade, a high-ranking CIA supervisor.

The storyline is heavily inspired by real-life CIA operations, centering on the fight against terror. It features Bassem Youssef as Amrohi, a billionaire with complicated ties to terrorism.

Special Ops: Lioness has been executive produced by Saldana and Kidman, with MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios producing for Paramount+. Along with the main cast, the series also features talents like Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Stephanie Nur, and Hannah Love Lanier.

Eager viewers can catch the first two episodes of the gripping spy thriller on Paramount+ come July 23, with subsequent episodes airing weekly until the series finale on September 3.
