Farrah Abraham is defending her parenting style after receiving backlash for allowing her 14-year-old daughter to get lip and ear piercings.
The 31-year-old Teen Mom alum took to TikTok on Thursday to post a clip of her daughter Sophia getting six face piercings for her birthday.
"HAPPY 14th Birthday! #snakebite & #earlobe piercing party! 6 piercings later #snakebitepiercings you match your snake. can you even eat your cake?" Abraham captioned the post.
Unsurprisingly, the mom of one received flak from TikTok users in the comments section of her video.
One critic wrote: "Could you be even sh***ier of a mother? This is a new low [sic]."

Another referred to Farrah as a "horrible mother."

This was seconded by yet another hater.

However, it wasn't all negative. In fact, the post was flooded with just as many supportive comments, with one writing: "Good job taking her to get them in a clean professional environment!!! so she doesn’t sneak out and do them in someone’s garage like i did."

Another chimed in: "I don’t understand why people care so much about the age and piercings. Better to have them professionally done than to not allow it."

A third supporter penned: "This won’t be a popular opinion. I’m happy you are letting her express herself. I’m a world full of pearl clutchers dare to be YOU!"

However, Farrah has now weighed in on the hate, telling TMZ that parenting can be a difficult one to navigate, but ultimately she's glad her teenage daughter isn't taking drugs, drinking alcohol or having sex.
If the most controversial thing Sophia is pining for is facial piercings then that can only be a good thing, Farrah told the outlet.
Last week, Sophia celebrated her 14th birthday and her reality star mom marked the occasion by paying tribute to the youngster on Instagram.
She lovingly wrote in a caption alongside a video and photo montage of Sophia:
"I LOVE MY TEENAGER. HAPPY 14th BIRTHDAY @sophialabraham IT’S OFFICIAL! 02/23/2023 IS HERE.
"I want to say beyond love for you, I’m grateful to have you as my daughter, you’ve helped me recognize how to 'reparent' myself, even while parenting you 🥳 how to loose the 'parental ego' that is the ugliest thing in this world, atune and have compassion - for this you’ve made my world easier to see & overcome my childhood and be present /2 feet in with you!
