Danny Andrews became an unlikely viral sensation after appearing in the BBC Three documentary Baby Faced Bodybuilders as a teenage bodybuilder from Preston.
His repetitive meal plan went viral on the internet, with the clip racking up millions of views and being transformed into a meme.
Nearly two decades later, Andrews is still lifting, looks dramatically different, and has turned the food that made him famous into a business.
Andrews was just 17 when cameras documented his bodybuilding lifestyle and asked what he ate throughout the day.
His answer became memorable: "Eight o'clock in the morning, I'll have fish and a rice cake," he said. "At two o'clock, I'll have fish. At four o'clock - just before I train - I'll have fish and a rice cake."
Looking back, Andrews admitted the snippet didn't exactly show him in the most flattering light.
"But that clip just makes me look really thick," he said. "Which again, is really funny and people still get joy from it now, it still goes around in waves."
"So it will go quiet for a bit and then it'll come out again. And then it'll be everywhere and then it'll go quiet again," he continued. "But I've been doing it for 17 years now. So I think it's part of like British culture."
These days, the barbershop owner has continued to hit the weights, but his approach to nutrition and fitness has changed.
Rather than relying on the diet that made him famous, Andrews now prioritizes "whole, organic foods" as part of his efforts to maintain "a year round six pack".
"I do 150 minutes cardio a week. I do four weight sessions a week. And I prioritize protein, but I have a low carb," he explained. "I eat every two to three hours."
Although he retired the fish-and-rice-cake routine, he has decided to make a business out of it by launching his own rice cake venture with his friend and championship-winning bodybuilder Zack McGuirk in Newcastle.
"I have actually created it and tested it and made sure that the macros are perfect because it's not only great tasting, but the macros are awesome on it as well," Andrews said. "So it's good for bodybuilders and gaining muscle as well as keeping your calories low as well.
"So it's 17 years of marketing really without even knowing it," he added.
Each packet of 'Danny's Protein Rice Cakes' contains two rice cakes with a combined 15g of protein and just 2g of sugar.
"They're bigger than your average rice cake as well, and they are £3.50 ($4.76) per pack of two and you can get them in packs of 10 for £30 ($40)," he said.
The BBC documentary wasn't Andrews' only appearance on television, as he has also appeared on dating shows including First Dates, Celebs Go Dating, and Love Triangle.
His appearance on the latter ended up having a much bigger impact on his life than expected.
Andrews has said that one of his main reasons for appearing on Love Triangle was to promote his rice cake business and have some fun. Instead, he met social media manager Sadie Bass.
The couple went on to become engaged after Andrews proposed inside Bianco Italian Restaurant in Tenerife, The Sun reported.
Bass shared a post after the proposal, writing: "I am still in shock, the most beautiful & thoughtful proposal- everyday I am so grateful to have such an incredible man like you in my life @dannyandrews__ MY FIANCEEEEE."
Andrews had already made his feelings about their relationship clear the previous year.
"Love Triangle is the last dating show I ever do and it’s not because I have already done them all and the only one left is Undateables. No, it’s because I have met my soulmate!!" he wrote. "I have finally found the fish to my rice cake."
