Kianna Underwood, best known for starring in Nickelodeon's All That, passed away at the age of 33.
The late actress tragically lost her life in a hit-and-run in Brooklyn, New York City on early Friday (January 16) morning.
According to TMZ, Underwood was crossing Pitkin Avenue in the Brownsville neighborhood when she was struck by a black Ford SUV.
The driver then continued to drag her for nearly two blocks, leaving her injured and motionless in the street.
The driver fled the scene, and Underwood was tragically pronounced dead at the scene from "severe trauma".
Authorities have yet to make any arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.
Loved Ones and Local Residents Speak Out
One of Underwood's family members, Anthony Underwood, shared the devastating news of her death on Facebook, writing: "Please give me and my family time to process this. Thank you."
Sparkle Mathis, a local restaurant owner, told the New York Daily News: "We, around here, know her as the Disney child star. But the show is actually, I just found out today, Nickelodeon."
Another man in the neighborhood, who didnt disclose his name, told the outlet that Underwood's boyfriend informed him of her death.
He said that her boyfriend was cooking breakfast when she left in the morning, adding: "He was just talking to her and he was begging her to stay inside the house."
"I’m very devastated, you know, I see her all the time," he continued. "She always had good spirits, happy, good energy. It was very sad to hear that it was her."
The former child star appeared on seven episodes of All That in 2005, which also starred Amanda Bynes, Nick Cannon, and Kenan Thompson.
She also featured in 23 episodes of Nickelodeon’s Little Bill between 1999 and 2004, which was created by Bill Cosby. She voiced Fuchsia Glover, the cousin of the main character.
In addition to this, the late actress starred in Nancy Savoca’s comedy The 24-Hour Woman in 1999, alongside Rosie Perez, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, and Patti LuPone.
She also provided voiceovers for an animated TV movie, “Santa, Baby” in 2001, and went on to tour with the musical Hairspray.
Per Daily Mail, Underwood stopped acting as an adult and was living in New York City at the time of her death.
